What do B and C stand for in your ratings system? I suppose we should be grateful that it only goes up to E rather than F.

B stands for Better than C
C stands for Cor, that's quite good, but I wasn't really blown away by it.
D stands for Do I bother buying this when it's not that good a transfer.

I thought X2 was supposed to have a pretty damn good transfer?

Yup according to HighDefDigest and most other reviews it does.

Well I did watch it as 2.30 in the morning, so take that opinion with a pinch of salt. Will probably watch it again at the weekend. Providing my Benjamin Buttons doesn't turn up.

Has anybody watched The Fountain yet? I saw it in HMV for ?12 with 'Directed by Darren Aronofsky' on the cover and that was enough for me!

Yes, I thought it was pretentious guff to be brutally honest, but have friends who love it. I'll watch it again now I have a proper projection setup and give it my full undivided attention at some point... it may change my opinion.

I guess you could call it Pretentious, but then you can level that same argument at almost anything that tries to have a bit more meaning than the average action film.

Personally, I really liked it. But then I've been a fan since Pi I think it's cheaper at Amazon, at least it was.

Pi was fine but Requiem for a Dream was what sold it to me really. Still one of the most disturbing films I've ever seen.

It's had some really mixed reviews with some loving it and others hating it. That's a good sign for me.

I hated Pi, gave Requiem For a Dream a miss because of it, but loved The Fountain and The Wrestler - would you guys say I should go back to Requiem then?

                        Comment

I loved Pi, thought Requiem was patronising, My First Drugs Film tricksy nonsense, thought The Fountain was that but ten times worse, and thought The Wrestler was pretty damn fine.

So. IMO miss out the two in the middle.

Its better than the DVHS and that was mind blowing

Ah, but I liked The Fountain....

Really enjoyed The Wrestler - so much so, I've ordered the expensive US Blu-Ray, as I can't wait to see it again. Rourke is exceptional - I suppose the most 'normal' character in any Aronofsky film? Must check to see whether there is a blu-ray available...

Skip them all and wait for Robocop
