Wait, so I can't exchange the US version? Bastards.

I sent my US copy of Pirates of the Caribbean back to the US and Disney sent me the replacement disc over to the UK, so hey, give it a shot.

Meanwhile, I don't think Europe ever saw a replacement program for the mis-framed version at all (of course...)

Yeah I did the same with that, but they did state that it was a global offer whereas the text on this one says US only. Maybe I'll get in touch and see what they say.

New remastered version of Escape From New York released this week in the US. Improvement over the shabby UK BR. For those intrested be aware it's locked to region A.

Escape from New York Blu-ray Release Date August 3, 2010. Blu-ray reviews, news, specs, ratings, screenshots. Cheap Blu-ray movies and deals.

How crap is it that we're stuck with the Optimum? Not that I think the Region A looks amazing, but it's better.

At least the US version is actually in High Definition.

I sent my US Saving Private Ryan to the UK address and got a fixed UK one back. Not sure Gladiator will work in the same way as they only want disc 1 back.

Also, Gladiator is a different distributor over here, so that probably wouldn't work at all.

Unless someone at the warehouse went "Meh..."

I fired off a mail, you never know. I could always fire off a mail to the UK distributor as well I guess, see if they'll replace it. Not sure that'll go down well though.

I got the UK Gladiator when I first went to Bluray and looked on IGN for a load of films with 10/10 picture quality. Oh how I laughed.

Is this replacement program live now then? Even a non-enthusiast like me can tell the original was a mess.

Anyone know when the replacement Gladiator streets in the UK?

Oh, and how will you be able to tell the difference?

I think it's going to be labelled as a different product isn't it?

On the subject of this, is it possible to tell without watching the film if you have a dud release or not? Serial number or anything?

I have a PAL copy, is there an exchange program for those?

EDIT: Not sure of the PAL exchange program.
