Oh, and how will you be able to tell the difference?
I can't imagine the covers will be markedly different over here to the current covers as it's not technically a new edition, it's a continuation of the same edition they've been selling since launch.
At the moment both Paramount and Universal following the premise that there was nothing wrong with the original release and them making a big deal of this being a completely new versions would scupper that idea. I'd imagine they'd separate the two editions if they turned this into some sort of collector's edition or anniversary edition and bundled in extra content which they probably can't do at the moment.
It is possible they'll announce it as a new edition but I'd be really surprised if they did.
Although Universal are stating that it'll be about a month before shops get the better version there may already be some in the shops now depending on how much stock of the old master the shops had available as happened in the US.

Does anybody know if the Mesrine: Killer Instinct blu-ray set was released in anything but the card box? I know in the past that films post launch have moved onto the standard blu-ray packaging but seeing it in HMV today it they're still selling it in the card box.
Has anybody here got it in different packaging?
I know the packaging isn't the most important thing but I'm really not a fan of those budget boxes and avoid them whenever possible.

I ordered the corrected version of Gladiator (in a Steelbook) from a Dutch company called Mediadis last week, based on recommendations of them on other forums. People on other forums are saying they received theirs a week ago or more, but I've not even had a shipping confirmation - and an email to them asking when it will ship has gone unanswered.
It cost me £20, which I though was OK for the steelbook, so I'll update on here when I get news (or it turns up!).

Almost anything. You can get second-hand Panasonic players for about 99 pounds or so - check AVForums classifieds.
Or: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-DM...1901301&sr=8-7
You can pay more money to add features like better SD DVD playback, analogue surround audio outputs for older amps, or video processing features to offset inaccuracies in your TV (for the hardcore calibration stuff), but just about any player plays 24p Blu-ray Discs properly.Last edited by Lyris; 15-08-2010, 19:41.
