Has anyone heard anything about region coding on Cars? I see it's out here on Monday, a month ahead of the US release, so I'd be ordering right now were it not for the fact that I have a US PS3. Typical that one BD that I actually want comes out here first...
I got my US PS3 from VGP where it's a bit more expensive than Movietyme when you factor in shipping (it also comes in two days from them) but they'll mark the value down for you and insure it. I know two other people who got one from them without getting hit for customs as well.

I've not seen it yet so it should a be a treat to see it the first time in HD.

He voices Lightning McQueen's agent as I recall, replacing Jeremy Piven who does it in the US version. Piven annoys me more than Clarkson does generally as Clarkson is merely a silly caricature and Piven's just a bit of a tw*t these days, but regardless, Piven's the original choice for the role and it's not like Pixar to do what I can't abide and pander to popular culture by shoehorning in references and voice artists people would instantly recognise. They leave that kind of lazy work to the gormless so and so's at Dreamworks.

I see Mr. The Clown's opinion exactly matches my own, I bought the standard def DVD from Australia for that reason and it's why I'm waiting on the American BD.
I don't want to watch a film that's entire purpose is a celebration of Americana (Route 66 and all that) and then hear some git from BBC2 talking over it.

Reminds me of the time I bought the UK version of Shrek 2 on DVD and was really fecking annoyed to hear the ugly stepsister voiced by Jonathon Ross and Joan Rivers (as herself; it even looks like her!) voiced by Kate Thornton, for some reason looking 40 years older.
