    Star Trek XII: Into Darkness

Not gonna call it Star Trek 2 because that's not what it is, however it's barrel rolling towards it's film date and the writers have been discussing some of the elements they'll be looking at for the sequel.

So far in short, due to fan response they'll be addressing the ease at which Kirk became Captain of the Enterprise, the look of Engineering and more character development than the last entry had.

Would be nice if they could explain how Kirk by ACCIDENT crash landed as the same planet as Spock Prime, and thereby SAVED THE GALAXY. Other than that awful moment, I really liked the first one. Will probably like the sequel too.

I don't even like star trek but thought the first (11th?) one was ace. If only all franchises updates were done so well and with such reverence for the original material.

Enjoyed the first, but find it hard to watch without laughing due to the use of lense flair. It's hilarious. No-one on the bridge would be able to to do anything, they'd be blinded.

JJ Abrams has finally signed on to direct the sequel with a script almost complete and filming starting in the winter.

            Thought the first was great.

Pegg in particular was great as Scotty. Just hope they can keep the entire cast.

I thought him and the alien creature scene on the ice planet were the worst things about that movie......still very good look forward to the sequel.

Yeah, Pegg often feels out of place in Hollywood movies - his "acting" never fits in with those around him. Still, he seems to have a large part in the next MI film, maybe if he's more integral from the start it will suit him more, he'll gel in more naturally.

Simon pegg is always great,m Ive never seen him be bad in anything. He only had a total of two scenes in MI:3 (well he popped up at the end too but didnt say anything) but he was pretty funny in it. I'm glad he has a bigger role in the sequel.

He was great In Star Trek as well (though again he wasnt in it enough).

The first film was fantastic really, the only prob;em with this sequel is that if they go down the Kahn route people might not be so easily pleased as the second Star Trek film has so many fans (even ones that dont really like Star Trek).

Wrath of Khan is my #2 movie of all time. If they touch that there WILL be blood.

(Just FYI, TESB being #1 and Cars being #3)

I'm not a Trekkie, but I can't bring myself to watch the last film, because looking at the cast annoys me so much... that I have a strong feeling I'll hate the film. The whole idea of going back to the original series characters just doesn't gel with me - and that's the main reason I feel nothing but revulsion towards the idea of watching 11 and 12.

I wish the producers had simply created new characters. Will they eventually make a Star Trek film with Captain Picard played by another, much younger bald actor? Just give me something brand new to get excited about; all this going back over old ground annoys me.

They should use James McAvoy like they did with X-Men. In fact, they should get him to play any roles involving a younger version of a character played by Patrick Stewart.

McAvoy still hasn't nailed it. The only good Patrick Stewart is a bald Patrick Stewart
