I actually think it's going to be good.

No Lucas with scripting by Lawrence Kasdan? Yeah, it has the ingredients.

Yeah i have a funny little feeling about this one...cant be worse than lucas' efforts in recent years.

What happened anyway, did he sell his rights to the franchise?

He sold Lucasfilm lock stock and barrel. Disney took on everything related to him, I'm crossing my fingers for when they eventually turn their sights on Indy

Old, pissed-off Han Solo (Harrison Ford) who shoots some alien scumbag first and I'm happy.

Btw. What happened to the plan to re-release all the films again in 3D? Canceled, I presume?

Yep, suprise suprise Ep1 didn't do very very well and as soon as Disney bought the franchise they canned that idea so efforts could be concentrated on the sequels.

so Di$ney are already breaking with tradition of the movie franchise..... got a bad feeling about this.

Tradition? What tradition are you referring to?

                      may release dates.

Ah. Well if they manage to break the prequel tradition of making godawful movies, I reckon I might just be able to come to terms with the horror of having a film come out in a month other than May.

Why on earth does anyone care? Surely we were all 5 years old or younger when the original movies came out, so it's only the prequels where release date would have any significance for people - they all sucked, so there are no good memories we need to cling on to.

I'll let good old Fry answer this.

Just to correct your post, the 3D version of EP1 did very well at the Cinema, but Disney want to bury the prequel movies so axed making any more.

Can't say I think EP7 is going to be a good movie, I don't think JJ Abrams is the right man for the job. I like the Star Trek remake, but Enter the Darkness was a bit **** and I don't think his movie style will suit star wars.
