Picked up a couple of CDs today. I bought REM's 'Accelerate' & GLC's 'Under The Counter'.
It usually takes me a good few listens before I know whether I like a new CD or not as I tend to dislike them all the first time I hear them.
I'm not sure who's playing the drums Bill Berry has left REM but whoever it is does a good job on this. It's produced by Jacknife Lee and it has his sounds all over it really.
I think I'm going to really like this album given time!
Don't know what to say about the GLC CD really, they aren't my normal type of hip hop but they do sort of work for me.
I can't believe that they've actually managed to pull 3 proper albums out of their track suits to be honest! That's without including the 6 albums they released on indie labels before their first major.
From what I've read the new one has gone back to their indie roots as in they have paid for it themselves and aren't sending out millions of copies that you'd get with a major release. Hence the Under The Counter title I suppose.

I'm still listening to Helios' Eingya.
Absolutely wonderful stuff! It's since become my favourite album, I can listen to it whenever. So chill out and relaxed!
Here's a sample:
Just blasting Muses' H.A.A.R.P. at the minute - I regret not going so much!Last edited by AngelsInFlight; 03-04-2008, 08:54.

They had a few in my local HMV but as I live in Wales and they've done concerts in my local indie record shop I suppose it's expected really. I don't really think it'll be difficult to find it but if do have difficulty I'm happy to get one for you if you want.

Actually, that would be great as I went looking for it at lunchtime and I couldn't find it at all. I'll bang you a PM later.
I saw them at a gig in Bristol a couple of years ago and they put on one of the most entertaining shows I've seen for the couple of hundred (if even) people at it.
Edit: Actually, I've just found it online at hmv.com so all sorted. But huge thanks for the offer!Last edited by Dogg Thang; 03-04-2008, 18:52.

Today I've had on The Planets' Goon Hilly Down which is from around the same time (but nothing like them in style). Their only charting single was 'Lines' in '79.Last edited by Wil; 06-04-2008, 19:27.

A complete impulse purchase based on the (music) video you posted.
