              Whodini - Back in Black

Awesome 80s hip-hop. Saw them in '86 at Hammersmith Odeon and they blew away the other acts that were on night (Run DMC, LL Cool J and even The Beastie Boys).

The new Richard Ashcroft effort with his new band, RPA & the united nations of sound.

Albums absolutely all over the place, some of it's class, other songs are utter dross. It might be a grower.

                    Lots of Hypnotic Brass Ensemble:

Apologies for Zane Lowe, but you can skip him.

That's weird. I've listened to both The Beach House and Suicide albums today.

Decided to save Jean Michel Jarre's Oxygene and the Friday soundtrack into my 360, been listening to them a lot, I forget how awesome Oxygene still sounds, despite it being a bit of a cliché.

'Lettin' N*ggas Know' by Threat from the Friday OST has this incredibly moody synth bassline that is proper chef-style lipsmacking, it sounds even cooler 15 years on, and you also get 'Superhoes' by Funkdoobiest, which is top-notch, never-will-date, double bass-y excellence. And then you got the Ice Cube title track and Rick James' 'Mary Jane', it's a cool CD, just a pity about the horrendous Zapp rendition of 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine'.

The new Manic Street Preachers single "It's not War, It's just the end of love".

A pure slice of pop-rock perfection, best single they've released since Tolerate!
