Robert Plant's Band of Joy. It's good but not Raising Sand good.

I struggle with any post Zeppelin Plant stuff. But it would be hard to top what he did with my favourite band ever, and I don't expect he ever will.

No, that's right, if you go into them expecting the same sound and energy of Led Zep then you're only gonna be disappointed.

His sound is constantly evolving and always reflects where he is in his life - and I appreciate that because I don't think I want a middle-aged man screaming Led-Zep style songs expressing his sexual potency. I thought the Mighty Rearranger and Rasing Sand were brilliant and his songwriting and vocals are as captivating as ever.

When I went to the Zep reunion at the o2, he was still more than capable of screaming his lungs out, even as an old codger. From the snippets i've heard, the new album might actually be not bad, but i've been fooled before (Hated the "strange sensation" band live). Raising sand just didn't float my boat either, an incredibly boring album for my tastes. I wouldn't knock him for doing what he wants to do though, the man's a legend.

Speaking of Led Zeppelin, there was a great show on BBC Radio 2 last night providing a fascinating look at the life and career of John Bonham - surely the greatest rock 'n' roll drummer of all time, including interviews and insights from his family, friends and fellow bandmates over the years including, of course, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones.

He seemed like one hell of a character and all discerning Led Zep fans would do well to catch it on iplayer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00tw5jk

Listening to Chromeo's new one, Business Casual. It's fantastic. They totally found their sound in their last album, Fancy Footwork, and are just building on it beautifully here. A real treat. Here's a sample -

That Chromeo song is wicked they should really shy away from the comedy material as they have the talent to be proper good as that one shows.

When I got the Rose Elinor Dougall album Without Why I liked it having had some of the tracks for a while, now i'm ruling my world, she is the one.

Also Bella Donna by Stevie Nicks, Outside the Rain is my favorite song as the minute.

Been listening to Neil Young's Daniel Lanois produced "Le Noise" which reminds me more of his Crazy Horse days than most of his recent stuff.

Also been listening to a lot of my William Burroughs collaborations lately.

The Disposable Heroes of Hiphopricy "Spare Ass Annie"

The Disposable Heroes of Hiphopricy "Words of Advice"

Kurt Cobain "The Priest, They Called Him"

                      Material "Seven Souls"

Ohhh! Tool are good aren't they?. Got all their albums and seen them 3 or 4 times live.

Listening to their early stuff (Opiate) compared to the later stuff (Lateralus), you can see how they have developed.

I have been listening to a bit of 'Bring me the Horizon' this week.

                                Oh yes.

I haven't seen them live (yet), but I too have all their albums.

They've come a long way since Opiate and Undertow.
