Completely slept on Paprika, recall it was one of the first movies I ever errm "downloaded". Revisit due.

Edit : seen 80, deffo have a few on LD. Have la Jetee on my watchlist will eye, it's on YT!
I think La Jetée and 12 Monkeys on the same list is a bit of a cheat and possibly could have been lumped together like BttF here. Would've made space for one of the Mad Max films.

The first film I "downloaded" was 28 Days Later.
Let me tell you, it was not 28 Days Later.
I watched it several times though, just in case I'd made a mistake and her lack of clothes was part of the plot.

    Then, you've got some homework.
I want that number up to 70 by next week or you'll be for the birch!

I mean, I like it and it's one of the highest grossing movies ever, so a lot of other people like it, but one man's yuck is another man's yum.

I think in the context of the best sci-fi films, I can understand its inclusion.

What's your total from that list, CMcK?

It is a pretty good list of films. The most questionable picks for me would be Avatar, 2009's Star Trek, and The Vast of Night, none of which I think are much cop (although you could certainly do worse than watch them). Independence Day and Evolution are also weak. The placement of Her at 22 - well above E.T., The Thing and Akira - is simply bonkers as well.

But, that's the nature of the lists. And overall it's a pretty good list!

I've seen 88 of them. It's a genre I really like especially classic 70s SF like Soylent Green, Andromeda Strain, Logan's Run and Phase IV. Some very decent modern SF these days too with stuff like Her, Under the Skin and Arrival.

Love that golden period of Logans run, Rollerball, THX, Soylent Green, Omega Man, POTA What a time to be alive. Shame I was but a nucleoid.

Rollerball is such a cool and bonkers film.

I love Logan's Run. I actually got kind of obsessed with that for a while when I was in my late teens*. I bought an original 70s version of the original paperback. Got it somewhere among my books still.
@CMcK can we hear which ones you haven't seen?

*cool dude that I was, was fighting girls off as you can imagine

Primer is def worth a watch. Quite a unique low budget time travel feature.

                        3rded, primer is cool.

Only got The Hidden recently ( yes LD ), pretty fun goofy 80s body snatcher affair.

                            That's an impressive tally!
I knew you liked sci-fi, but I didn't realise just how much our tastes aligned!

Absolutely love every film you just listed.

Did I miss Children of Men?

Apart from the criminally low positions of the Nolan films and the Thing, the 2 things that irk me the most are:

Close Encounters is easily top 10
                              Terminator 2 over 1 - HERESY

                                Quick thoughts on the list:

-Chronicles of Riddick over Truman Show - Really?!
-It's not my favourite entry but ROTJ > Avatar with ease
-Inception > Interstellar for the Nolan sisters too
                                -Wall-e is way too high

Mostly it's the order of things I'm a little off with, common with these things though. I'm amazed how many I've not seen too.
