As far as I know lucky channel is sort of in reference to a radio program of the same name hosted by the same people that voice Akira and Shiraishi Minoru (those two characters on the Lucky Channel segment). It's pretty much a radio show related to the show/manga. They do it quite often for a lot of shows i.e. get VAs to host them. Makes for more merchandise and stuff to sell I guess as well as another chance to advertise stuff.

Just like to thank Tobal and Zappster for going on about Strawberry Panic all those months ago. After seeing it being mentioned I ended up downloading the entire series. I'm such a sucker for cheesy series especially with endings like that.
Poor Tamao-chan! Everyone ends with at least some measure of happiness, even Yaya but she's left with nothing at all! Granted they'll both still be friends but she just looked so sad

TAMAO-CHANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN NNNOOOOooooooooo. I blame it all on the producers not giving Tamao any backstory untill the very end, they sent her out to die. It let the NagisaXShiz fanboys go wild

I was hoping not to be reminded of that series again. In fact I think I've already forgotten the kind of stuff I said about it. Guilty (non-)pleasure rings a bell. To be fair I've seen worse...
Another one for the Tamao camp. She was such a cute and lovely psycho stalker it was hard not to like her.
Not a show I'd readily recommend but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I can see why they had to end it that way since it made the most overall sense but
it sort of put a dampner on the whole happy ending with some of the last scenes with Tamao. I was just upset that there wasn't really a proper resolution with Tamao and Nagisa. I mean she goes back to the room but there's no indication of how they'll progress from there. Rather sad.
But yeah, I enjoyed it(minus the dodgy ending videos) but I think have a secret liking for sentimental cheese like that.

Gurren Lagann ep 7 & 8 - HOLY ****ing ****! Epic, epic stuff. Don't read the spoilers if you haven't watched already, seriously.
I can't believe it. They killed off Kamina! But what a way to go! Seriously that was probably my favourite set of episodes of the series so far. Loads of moments worth mentioning. Quite emotional at times too. My only concern now is how they are going to fill the void left by Kamina. He was a major part of why I enjoyed the show so much. Looks like Simon'll do it, as I guess that was part of the reason why they had to get rid of him. He's going to have to step out of Kamina's shadow now... Brilliant episodes, loved the music, the animation, pretty much everything. The only thing I would have changed is... well...

That was utterly amazing. Just sitting there with my jaw open at the end.
You sort of knew it was going to happen but the way they built Kamina up from the start of the series, I thought he'd be a permanent character. Wonder if there'll be a new opening now.
Really really glad I started this series now.

Only seen episode 7, but i can guess whats going to happen in episode 8,
the foreshadowing in ep7 was massive with message being "Play it safe, i don't want to lose you". I had been expecting it happen but not this early, as someone on 4chan boards(of all places) months back said it would happen going on ep1 and how weak and cowdley simon is at the moe would need some sort of shock to the system to turn him into the man from ep1.
Watching ep8 as soon as i get home.

gurren lagan 8 was amazingly good.
it was pretty obvious, but still done so well. amazing how they can get away with such crazy outlandish stuff and serious heartwrenching scenes in such a short time.
just shows what great chracter development they've achieved in such a short time...with pretty much all the characters in the ever growing cast.
its just so far above every other show this season imo (even though there are still some crackers out too)

Loved ep8, had everything.
Once Yoko gave Kami a kiss(of death), you just knew thats the last we'd see of him, but what now? the best character is dead and i don't think Simon can step up to the plate just yet, i reckon we got at least 2/3 episodes of emoSimon. Lets hope it doesn't fall apart with out Kami there.
Is this a 12ep run?
