I've just been catching up with Fullmetal Alchemist (episodes 31-39) Excellent stuff I'd actually been away from FMA for so long, I had forgotten about how good it can be. I'm currently torrenting away at the recent episodes, so no spoilers please!

Thanks for the Gantz update Tobal; I'm slightly more interested now. Does the "monster" design get any better though? The vegetable brothers in episode 2 really ruined the whole thing for me.

I've just got a lot of the excellent Deathnote manga to catch up on now, and I need more Maria-sama!

lol, they are quite strange for aliens, but the vegge boys are much harder with gore elemental, the young one get tortured to death, they guys fire those delay weapons into his arms and legs blowing them off one a time while keeping him alive, and the big one is ripping the gantz crew to bits.

After that you only get 2 more aliens(technically 1 type) that pretty spooky, they seem like robots with lazer things in there mouth, i won't spoil the rest. Oh yeah the nude scenes are better

Ghost inthe Shell:2 , top stuff. Animation without peer. Shame the story wasn't that good but still enjoyable, the TV series is still better when it comes to that. It leaves you hanging for ages on the Major's appearance, but then that does let batou have the show to himself which isn't as bad thing, but we also miss out on the hardware like the spider tanks, cloaks and other assorted kickass technology, its also a reverse of the 1st Film and TV series.

Much like the 1st film and Tv servies, action doesn't happen all that often but when it does, it's top notch. Watching Batou vs the Dolls near the end was well scripted fight. My only major complaint is the music, nowhere near the standard of the 1st movie and certainly no where near as good as the TV series brilliant sound tracks.

As for the subbing quality(by Hawks), its not without errors, the timing is off and sometimes you'll notice entire speech missed or chinese(i think) not being translated. Still with my limited understanding of japanese is seemed pretty accurate, the file is well over a gig big and is encoded in AC3 for a sound codec, something i'm not a fan of, as while i get proper 5.1 it does a crap job of letting the voice of characters being heard over the sound effects and music, so turn up the sound and lower the bass ^_^

Gantz S2 has finally been subbed and is looking good, also for all you narutards out there the dvd-r of the movie is out so go get it.

Finally got around to watching the monster anime and its pretty good, quite gripping without using obvious devices (i.e. cliffhangers) and overall a good thriller series and coming from a fan of mainly comedy oriented stuff that is a complement.

is the DVD for GitS:2 out? R1 or R2(japanese ver with eng sub)? I noticed the naruto download but i don't have 4gb to spare, specially if its a crap sub and news on how good it is?

As for monster i stopped around ep where the cop and her parents "cough" it, as the sub's dried up for ages and so i couldn't get back into it, ende dup deleting them all.

r2 jap of gits is out (it has eng subs), as for naruto it hasnt finished for me yet but no one has said anything bad about it yet so i suppose thats a good sign.

Thankfully thats the part i'm upto in monster, you might as wel start up because that is the point at which the story flashes forward so it should have a fresh hook for you.

Also it seems your finally realising that even with a dvd writer there just isnt enough time to burn and not enough space to download to. #sigh# thats why i've ended up with just under 2TB of space and that still isnt enough.

As for the naruto movie it seems from gamefaqs naruto fans say its a fake, i did have my doubts when it weighted in at 4gb, being the Gits:2 dvd rip is only over 1gb big.

How so? Everyone who know's something about GitS, knows how big a character the Major is. I went in thinking the show was going to carry a similar theme to 1st film and Tv show, but surprisingly very little did and the Major plays 3rd fiddle to Batou and Togusa which gives nothing away and is needed for the small review i gave it, and as for the fight at the end you can see that coming a mile off from the 1st scene, and i don't elude to what happens in the fight or why he's there, nore do i the other bits of action in the film.

there is a lot of difference between the dits dvd-RIP in that it was a xvid reencode of the dvd-r whereas the supposed naruto dvd-r is a full dvd-r (in dvd format i.e. vobs) which has been reencoded from the dvd-9.

but thats not to discount the possibility that it could be fake, we shall see.

well ayu were doing madlax so they will probably continue, i thought it was pretty boring (watched upto about 5-8 ) but i still got all of it anyway.

Madlax 25 was **** hot, like the ones before it. It starts slow yes, but right now the story is heated and feels great.

I wish I could say the same for Naruto

I crave more Samurai 7 and translations of champloo would be nice.

i have ep 24/25 to watch of madlax, i'm hoping it finishes at 25, but im guessing its 26 and i'm in for a long wait for it. wellim not to disappointed, its as NM says quite boring mostly and the only time decent gun play happens is Madlax vs women Sniper throughout the series, it just seems to lack any soul and it almost verges on A-team style gun battles and far,far,far to many flashbacks, gods know why i watched it to ep23, if don't like it that much, even the story got bit whacked by ep 18 with all these 'books' and the 'him' and 'the place' quotes that happen every other sentence. Typical dialog past ep 15
