Well, im still plodding slowly, yet surely through Dragonball Kai........ its nice to be able to be watching a TV series at roughly the same time as my Nihon bretherens for a change......... Even if it is a re-run to most extents.........

The fact that I can experience the series all over again and still be hooked, is testement of the series staying power. even when it was terribly dubbed for the West, they got most of the quirks and humour right! Although watching it all in Japanese for the first time will now mean, its the third time Ive seen the series and the third translation, making it interesting to understand the subtle changes due to language/social differences........

Seen first ep of mitsudomoe...

Suffers from unlikable main characters. It's incredibly rare for me to enjoy a comedy where I can't stand the leads. Dropped.

Amagami SS seems like a nice gentle romance, may keep watching it. Just hope it doesn't become cliched and boring. Given that it's apparently a series of mini arcs, each going a different route of the novels, it should hopefully move along at a fast pace.

Naruto 167 is bloody good. excellent animation.

reminds me of some anime i forgot the name of. little girl, bloke called karas? time traveling....shangri-la stuff. i can see it in my head.

Noein. Very nice series as I recall. Lovely animation for some of the battles too.

Saw first ep of Seitokei. Some funny dirty jokes but I'm not sure if it won't get stale fast.

So what are the new shows of the season that should be a must watch? other than black lagoon. Also does anyone know if they are doing uncut versions again of BL?

At the moment, there hasn't been much that's good. Highschool of the dead airs today, could potentially be good.

Quantum Mechanics - The Anime, as a friend of mine described it to me.

It's good, but a little bit brain bending towards the end...

mitsudomoe - indeed quite unlikable, not a patch on minami. Willing to give a couple more episodes though as i found the crotch attack stuff funny, but those girls are dickheads.

Seitokei - really good animtion onthis one, most of the dirty jokes seemed.. to forced like the sort of unfunny **** you find in little britain, i mostly put it down to the subbers so im going to have to hope for some quality subs. A couple of jokes did make me laugh unlike the previous Seitokei namesake, like about her fanny being well guarded.

If you watch the first ep of Seirokei, don't watch the PITA subs. They get some of the phrases drastically wrong (most notably they translate "touching my butt" into "anal masturbation").

Mitsudomoe is annoying. There are some really funny bits but comedy needs likable or endearing characters to succeed.

Ookami-san - felt like i seen this before , pretty much a Index and ToraDora mix so decent art and good animation, really love Ookami outfit and i could do without kuroko narrating every 30 seconds.

Just had a wonderful little double bill from the new season, namely High School of the Dead and Black Lagoon (s3) first eps.

Was thoroughly impressed by High School of the Dead, ive not actually read the manga but i knew what the basic premiss was going into it. The first ep was brilliant tho, from the great opening action section, through the build up to the panic, and then through to the wonderful final section, made all the better by a rather nice use of the 28 days later theme. It had a very well ballanced mix of fanservice, action, and gore. I just hope it can keep it up throughout the series and not turn into some typical shounen vs zombie show.

And well Black Lagoon was more of the same and as brilliant as ever, loved the mini maid :P.

After those 2 tho i feel like im back in the 90's when stuff like this was at its prime; action, gore and just the right level of fanservice.

High school of the dead was pretty great. Nicely harrowing.

Black lagoon(s3) and High School of the Dead, both dead certs for me, loved them to bits , Black Lagoon had me laughing like a maniac and Roberta hasn't even done anything yet. This whole less = more thing the anime studios are going through after a decade of countless **** being shoved into a season(with a couple of gems of course) is paying off and the September line up looks even better.

If even half that lineup ends up being true its going to be an amazing season. I had been loosing faith a bit with recent seasons but after Black Lagoon and HotD and that lineup (if true) its been thoroughly restored. Looks like the focus is finally coming back to quality rather than quantity.
