    Acitivity!

Just a brief update to say that I'm really enjoying Shiki for being a bit weird and freaky, Seitokai Yakuindomo for it's amusing filth and LOLHeroes for being just some good, old fashioned generic fantasy fun.

2 other things; - I'm sure Orka will agree with me that if you're after a little bit of mecha to tide you over till Star Driver, the 2 Break Blade movies are well worth a download. Nothing highly inventive with plot wise but solidly made and very enjoyable.

    - If you're after something to read, I highly recommend Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer. Been a long time in releases since it's monthly but well, well worth wait for it's conclusion. Read online here or downloads available here

Glad to see you enjoyed Break Blade Mr Jeff, got round to watching the 2nd film myself the otherday after having a few days with no net. Like you said its nothing highly original but its a very enjoyable watch. It also helps it has a semi resonable release schedule (unlike stuff like Unicorn etc), rougly every month i think, although i think there's going to be a month break now between the first 2 and films 3&4.

I'm also enjoying shiki too, alot of higurashi vibes coming from it. I do have a soft spot for this sort of stuff tho.

And thanks for the manga recommendation. Not read any manga properly in ooo must be over a year now, and recently ive been wanting to get back into it. So your recommendation has come at a great time, got any others whilst were on the subject?

Hmm. I've just finished Beck which I really enjoyed, so if you've not read that, I'd say you should.

        There's also:
Deadman Wonderland (kinda a Mirai Nikki constant despair kinda vibe),
Vinland Saga (kinda like norwegian berserk minus demons?),
The Breaker (kinda like GTO mixed with grown up Ippo)
and Akumetsu (japanese politics and terrorism mixed with awesome hero).

Oh and while it's got another 2 weeks break, you have plenty of time to plough through One Piece.

I picked up Patlabor 1 & 2 for less than three squid and watched the first film over the weekend and reeeeally enjoyed it!

I forgot how good it was, actually and I'll probably watch it again after seeing the sequel.

Loved the way the plot built up to potential armageddon and the end sequence to stop it from happening.

          Great stuff.

Don't think it's new but has anyone go any experience with Gundam Unicorn??

Looks good & just wondering if it's worth watching before I drop the £30 on the first Blu-ray

Its good Neil , the animation is of the top drawer and everything looks sweet, its your usual Gundam story, ive seen it but didn't buy it , not cause i didn't like it , as you know im a huge Gundam fan but £30 for just 1 OVA seemed mighty steep, i'd be wanting the whole series on BR for that. Alan.

                Thanks Alan

Hmmm didnt read that it was only 1 OVA thought it was volume 1 & contained a few episodes.

Afraid I'll be joining you & sitting on my £30 & spending it on Volume 1 of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood instead

Oooh while I've got peoples attention what are the opinions of the Diebuster & Gunbuster movies???

Just seen they've had BD realeses as well

FMA: Brotherhood is enjoyable enough but its hard to get through 64 epsiodes even so.

I had an easy time getting through Brotherhood every week when it aired. Much better than the previous series and wrapped everything up nicely.

K-on!! ep24 - noooooooooooooooooooooo, its all over . Episode flew by in now time at all,

loved the 4 piece they played for Azusa at the end.

. I know we got 2 more episodes as 'extras' to go and can only hope its Azusa putting together a new music band and hopefully the last extra to lead on to some sort of 3rd season.

Once a week is fine. Trying to do 4 or 5 eps. a day is where it becomes a challenge. Still, a good series none the less.

2 weeks to the new season starts.

Looks like it'll be good for harem series but there's one FABULOUS mecha show that looks like it could be great

I liked them both to be honest, the differences made them enjoyable

Like in the original where the 'taboo' ended up being homunculus especially the aspect of al having to kill his mother

But major Armstrong in both just make it for me, just one if the best characters around

My Wife is a mermaid (is that out over here?) - funny romantic comedy
Full Metal Alchemist brotherhood - new adaptation of the action manga that's faithful to the source
Hellsing Ultimate - Pure concentrated awesome
Code Geass - great so long as you don't try to take it seriously. If you start focusing on plot holes and stupid plot elements it'll make you rage. If you can ignore that, it's one of the better modern mecha series.
The Girl who lept through time - Best non Ghibli movie
Summer Wars - same director as TGWLTT, not as good but still great.
Gurren Lagann - extreme OTT mecha action but it's brilliant.
Black Lagoon - great action, sometimes funny, sometimes it really punches you in the gut. One of the best 'realistic' series around.
