Maid Guy is ace, even if it is another fan service show is got enough stupidity to it to make it enjoyable and the ED song is ace right up there with ZSZS teachers pet song.

It might just be a problem with your playback setup then. Audio desyncing is usually the first thing I think of when a setup struggles with an encode. Do you use coreavc? Alternatively it might just be a problem present in the raws so there might not be anything that can be done about it. I do remember certain episodes of Kissdum having a similar problem (among a myriad of other things wrong with the show).


Wagaya no Oinari-sama ep 1 - For some reason whenever I think of Fox Girls/Wolf girls/whatever I almost always immediately think fanservice show. I did the same with Spice and Wolf... and then there was Kanokon... now this. 1 out of 3 isn't bad I suppose. I liked that, quite a bit of it reminded me of Inukami only a bit more serious. The fox spirit instantly made me think of Horo, don't quite like the voice acting as much though. No other problems with it though. Again fairly middle of the road opening episode but I can see some potential with it. Nothing that outright turned me off.

Kamen No Maid Guy ep 1 - Might just be the show to replace KimiAru for me. Didn't quite like this first ep as much as I did KimiAru's. It's all a bit ridiculous but as long as they don't drag it out for too long it'll be okay I reckon. I did manage a chuckle or two throughout which is promising I suppose. Well, tbh I couldn't help but laugh at Kogarashi, the whole design makes me smile. He sort of reminded me of Sousuke from FMP in that he doesn't quite know the "right" thing to do so is always acting inappropriately which I guess is where a lot of the comedy will be coming from.

I did note there were a couple of people bitching about the same problem on /a/ but I dunno. I've only got the latest version of cccp on the pc and it normally pops up with ffdshow in the taskbar so I don't think I have coreavc although I know next to nothing about these things. I 'spose it could just be my pc. :unsure: Myeh. With any luck, AE-Saizen will pick it up so I'll get their version for keeper purposes.

Edit: Holy crap. Just seen the op and ed for Kyouran Kazoku Nikki. I've not heard anyone speak that fast consistently since Excel in Excel Saga.

I'd recommend looking into getting CoreAVC sorted on your setup. It's great and generally runs things with less CPU usage or something (I don't know much more about these things either tbh). Which icon shows up in the taskbar? Because there's the audio and the video icons for ffdshow. If the video one is showing then it means CoreAVC isn't running but that can be changed fairly easily. I'd say it's definitely worth looking into though, assuming you haven't already. Anyway I'm not saying you're wrong regarding this, it's just sometimes it may not be something that the fansub group can help. We shall see whenever AE and Saizen decide to release I suppose.

it does sound like it could be the player struggling with the HD encode, my old laptop used to do it with High res / true HD encodes, and blueray rips n stuff, the picture would begin to lag behind the sound then usually it would go through a quick fastforward mode and catch up, if it was only the odd second out of sync you prolly didnt notice the catch up, CoreAVC solved it tho (get the professional version) bar it still affecting the blue-ray rips abit but that was down to my old laptop not being up to it, now i get nothing, but i am running it on a high spec gaming laptop now

you should get CoreAVC even if it isnt the problem, as others say it uses less processing power, as its more efficient at dealing with h264 encodes than the standard fdshow

Kurenai ep 2: What a wierd series. It's nice and charming then

the bit at the end where he goes incredibly violent is just quite a change. Despite issues about the ep earlier for being pedo, there's no kinda of vibe coming from the main guy. The scene's themselves aren't really aimed for that themselves either really unless you're specifically looking for that.

Good series though. The slut high schooler is annoying though.

Edit: Also about halfway through Banner of the Stars II. I'm not enjoying it as much as the first two:

I think I'd be enjoying it more if there wasn't the overhanging shadow of knowing that Jinto's 99&#37; going to die at the end. With that, it's hard not to keep thinking "right, so when's it all going to go bad". Shame really since the story itself is ace.

Damn good stuff, be interesting to see them keep up that level of animation and sound for 50ep season. Ranka's bangs have life of there own. Also loved it when the captain guy slugged princess in the face for asking to pilot a VF

Kurenai ep 2 - i really like this show, didn't think it was pedo and as mention above there was no intent from the kid. I think it'll be the baccano of this season, had the potential to be dark and not afraid to use gore in the right places and the characters are enjoyable.

Kurenai ep 2 - Yeah, looks like I was worrying over nothing. Still, I'm glad. It was my favourite new show (and still is) so I'd have hated for it to be "ruined". The main thing I like is the characters and the atmosphere so far. Murasaki being a prime example, she had the potential to be really annoying but it's not turned out that way at all and she seems to pick things up quickly with the minimum of fuss. The OP song has grown on me too. My mind is at ease

he knew the whereabouts of some "treasure" that could result in the ending of the war, according to his own words. The suspicious guy turning up, I guess confirmed for them that something was amiss and perhaps there was some truth to what the old guy was saying. Plus it seemed like he might have gone with them on their proposed journey to find the treasure or at least was contemplating it.

Didn't really have a problem with that bit myself.

Maid Guy: was a very amusing first ep, the concept is great, Maid Guy is a legend already for some of his crazy antics:P, should make for an amusing no-brainer show to just enjoy

Hayate 52: nice end (well untill the next series) to things, anyone else couldn't stop thinking of shana-tan whenever young nagai spoke? i was half expecting a "urasai urasai urasai" somewhere in there

Mnemosyne 3: another nice ep:

return of that crazy piercing woman, only this time in half dead / Mecha form :P, not quite as action packed as the last couple of eps, but it was also nice to have a more mimi centred ep rather than rin, also Maeno died ?! , that was a shame as he'd took on that cool veteran detective look

Code Geass R2 ep2 - LOL. So much for my predictions and thoughts from the last episode.

They've more or less spilt the beans on what happened at the end of season 1 and the rest of the episode continues at a breakneck pace more or less. Zero is back, allying with the chinese and starting the USJ all over again! And so is Suzaku

Lots of stuff going on. It's like the best of the last season all over again. So they've still got it. Can't wait for the next episode.

Code Geass R2 - Man that chinese guys voice is annoying! Other than that, good episode. I am kinda worried that they're going to oversaturate the show with a ton of geass users.

Kurenai 02 - another great, ep, some nice character development and interactions, the post bath scene with the milk was very well done, murasaki is developing into a great lil character, and best of all it still looks great, definitely up there as one of my favourites of the season so far

Code Geass R2 02 - another action packed episode with more brilliant Zero Tactics, and finally some answers and revelations about what happened after that stupid cliffhanger of last series:

by the fact that they had neither of them even sustain the smallest of injury from that stand off, and the fact suzakui won because of his stupid gravity defying, wall running hax just made that ending even worse, and the fact that he then sold him out just solidifies that suzaki is a giant fag, and from the way he's acted so far may well get up to kazuki levels (dragonaut)
