Almost makes me want to shove the show to the top of my "to watch" list.

So I put most of my normal viewing on hold to watch a movie today and I'm so glad I did. It's called Sword of the Stranger and it's a BONES production. And good god what a production. There are some superb visuals on display here and the animation is top notch throughout. Fantastically epic music too. It's a simple story well told, IMO, with some good old fashioned bloodshed. It can be really brutal in places and some of the battles are beautifully animated and choreographed.

I particularly loved the build up to the first face off that the two of them had and really words fail at the awesomeness of the final confrontation

Just watched this and thought it was amazing.. Easily up there with some of my favourite fights from Seirei and Champloo. Particularly loved the

first fight with the bandit slaughter where the blood and water lands on the 'camera'

. Music works really well with it too.

Edit: Himitsu 1 - Wow. Average show-o-rama. Despite the characters trying hard to make it seem dramatic it was just dull. Don't think I could bear to watch naymore of this so I'll drop it.

Woo new Super Robot Wars Game announced, some surprises in the series roster, Eureka 7 and Overman King Gainer. Not so surprising was Seed Destiny and Great Mazinger / Mazinger Z (that are in just about every SRW), confirmed but not complete list so far:

Im hoping GaoGaiGar gets in again, id also love G Gundam to appear again, but its been in a couple and is one of the lesser known Gundam series, there's also been rumours for a while now of a Gurren Lagann appearance in a SRW, but i would guess that its still abit too recent to have made it in

cant wait tho, SRW are awesome games especially the ps2 offerings that have crazy attack animations, and have all the voice acting for the attacks n stuff by the original VA's

Zenryoku Usagi
a rabbit who works as a construction worker. very light hearted little show, and quite enjoyable. i'll watch more of this kind of silliness

Amatsuki
kid gets sent back in time 250 years, goes blind in one eye, and doesnt seem to give a ****. i might check it out some more and see if it turns into some kind of hack thing with real world/past/virtual realty crossovers. but if it just turns into standard fantasy i'll leave it i think.

Golgo 13.
wasnt too fussed about this at all really. seemed perfectly obvious the whole way through, and didnt really like the style either. i think i'll forget this one straight away.

Kyouran Kazoku Nikki
weird show about a paranormal cop who is suddenly thrust into being married to some crazy god type girl, and has to be the father to her equally bizarre siblings. pretty funny, and has an excellent end theme. i liked this one.

Nabari no Ou
only seen the first, but have the second already downloaded. seems ok, but like so many shows this season, hasnt really grabbed me. if the second episode isnt great i think i'll drop it.

Monochrome Factor
this was quite good. supernatural schoolboy fighting demons type affair. pretty by the book, but i'm reasonably interested to see a bit of the wider story behind it. definately check out the next one.

Crystal Blaze
detective agency take in a girl with some super powers. again, i didnt think it was anything special. theres obviously going to be some weird conspiracy behind it all, but from what i've seen i'm not sure i care.

second episode of soul eater (censored) was great again. this is definitely a keeper. i'll try to get the uncut one too and see if theres any vast difference worth bothering with.

Not anything about the new stuff... im back to Bleach ep167... and just wtf have the anime staff got in store us for what i assume is will be 26eps-52eps of filler hell RIGHT IN THE FKING MIDDLE OF A STORY ARC.........

Excellent news about the Haruhi light novels. My only hope is that baka-tsuki don't drop the translation now it's licensed. On the same note; I really need volume 10. The only bloody cliffhanger in the novel series so far and it happens at volume 9.

its about time someone got their act together and brought the novels over here

been holding off on the fan translations hoping for a proper commercial release, that and the fact im not too fond of trying to read a novel on a pc monitor, much prefer a physical copy

i just hope there not as slow between releases as tokypop are, been waiting for the 2nd vol Of Kino no Tabi, and the 4th Vol of Scrapped Princess for months now

I watched the "supposedly" uncensored version of ep1 but couldn't see any differences.

Got around to watching the first two episodes of Macross Frontier

how much do you want to mimic the original macross!? Not completely though as the scenario is a little different but still. For a moment I thought the monsters were actually from one of the SRW games as well. I'm looking forward to ep3 tonight, though I probably won't watch it until next week sometime. I just hope l33t-raws decide to pick this up.

One thing that's been annoying me about recent anime is that they DON'T end, just carry on or leave the story almost the same as the beginning. Juushin Enbu and Gurren Lagann had closure(ish), and I think they were all the better for it. Hopefully MF will do the same.

The Daughter of 20 faces(god knows I can never remeber the japanese name): I like this! It looks nice and cheesy and it feels very reminiscent of some old thief/adventure series that used to be on T.V. Animation and music is quite nice although there's a couple of obvious flaws

the belt rocket wouldn't float in the air like that after he releases it unless it's propulsion was going and the way...lets call him Faces, was carrying Chizuko when they were on the rope ladder seemed ridiculously loose for travelling at that speed

I hope they continue on with the clever thieving theme. There's a lack of these kind of mystery elements in series.
