I'd say it was probably intentional as it was similar to the sorts of things in Kemonozume, which if any of you do love Kaiba (and you do seem to), I implore you to go and watch. It's not quite as surreal as Kaiba but it's got it's own "different" animation style which is what I think put a lot of people off it. It's a fairly simple story which is humorous in its own way and it has some unique things about it too. It's fairly short too. I guess it's an interesting and weird take on the classic Romeo and Juliet story. I don't want to say too much more other than go watch it!

Toshokan Sensou ep 1 - Having seen that I can see where some of the FMP/Planetes comparisons are coming from. I absolutely loved it and that's in part due to the character interactions. It looks really lovely too in a more traditional sense than say Kaiba, although toshokan has its own unique touches too like some of varied line thickness on the characters. You have certain bits that are more pronounced than others. All in all it comes together for a very nice look. I hope they can keep up the quality visually and in terms of episode content. I liked the OP and ED too. Up there with my favourites for the season.

Quick run down (Macross/Code geass = excellent)

Kaiba - "don't know if want" is my reaction, little to bonkers with little explained, but i'm more than willing to give it a chance, to get going as its so very different to the rest of the season.

Soul Eater ep2 - will certainly be downloading this very week now, can't see the difference between the uncut and cut of ep1, not seen ep2 uncut yet... anyone got clear idea yet?

Himitsu ep1 -gave me to creeps with all the brain stuff but as said by some one already... get set for pretty boy on pretty boy action , could easily ruin the show. If ep2 show signs of manlove then its to the bin with it.

Nabari no Ou - like what i see, ninja combat, keeper for me.

kurenai ep3 - as already said, characters/relationships and interaction are just a step above everything else this season. best new show this season.

Zettai Karen Children - meh, still have ep2 to watch and if not improved then its gone.. already far to much better stuff even in the 'fluff' department.

ToloveRu ep1 - meh, much like Zettai kids, boring and done better else where. ep2 to watch yet though.

Special A - has that strange xxxHolic look but can't quite pull it off, dislike the all the characters as they seem like total spoiled assholes playing games dispite the "work hard" moral at the end (those punks, apart from the cheating are totally right).

Maid guy ep2 - hahahaha brilliant, that bit with the maths when he slaps the maid on the ass with such disrespect had me rofl, wonder if there's an uncut version as ep1 had tons of nipple shots but there all covered in ep2...

xxxHolic Kei ep1-3 - great stuff, darker start compared to season one and all the better for it, if its going to move the plot along.

Itazura na Kiss - i like it, just stands above the other average crap like ZKC, Special A and 2loveRU. Don't know why as the outcome almost certain and i can damn well bet now the posh spaz will end up chasing her in the end.

Still to watch...

Kurenai ep 3 - agreed with everyone really. Good stuff, although I must admit in this episode Murasaki was dangerously close to getting on my nerves, but that was mainly towards the end of it so it didn't spoil it for me.

i saw episode two, cut and uncut. and didnt notice anything at all, although there was a few days inbetween. its certainly not nudity, as there isnt any. i'd be surprised if its violence. language maybe?

Shion no Ou 19 - Good to see LE subbing the remaining episodes of this, since it started to really kick up a few gears with regards to the identity of the killer, who murdered Shion's biological parents.

Yeah. Someone said a similar thing to me about episode 1 after watching both side by side. He noticed some more fanservicey eyecatches and a few seconds of extra footage in the next episode preview IIRC. So it looks like there isn't much difference yet. Who knows? Maybe as we progress there'll be some more tangible differences between the two versions.

The difference is the time slot. It airs on Monday at 6pm on TV Tokyo and then the "lateshow" is the following wednesday (maybe) at 2am. After recording them both because I thought there was a difference I'm just watching the standard Monday one.

Due to me rereading One Piece again I've fallen behind a bit. Just a bit more till I catch up though:

Vampire Knight 2: Bit less stupid bishie-ness but I think I'll probably be dropping this after I give ep 3 a chance. I can see there's probably some plot there but the way the vampires are being setup storywise is irritating.

'holic kei 3: They really managed to capture the spisder arc well. Looks fantastically done too. I did laugh at the appearance of a Tachikoma though.

Frontier 3: Sheryl still being a bit annoying but there's possibly some kind of depth there. Other than that it's all good.

Golgo 2: I liked this better than the first one. I think it more accurately shows off just how professional and above awesome Togo is.

Real Drive: I'd thought the thoughts on 4 chan about people being chubby in this on 4chan were being a bit over the top but it is....certainly noticable. Plotwise, I'm not entirely sure what the hecks going on or whether I'm meant too. Seems interesting though.

Kamen no Maid guy 2: Glad to see maid guy has something other to him than instilling fear into people. Some good jokes in there too so it's all good.

Still to go; Geass, A&L, kurenai, Persona and Shugo Chara.

it didnt seem especially rushed though, and everything seems to be tied up ok. although i did enjoy it on the whole, it wasnt the head **** i was expecting when it first started.

and i only just realized that bus gamer is only 3 episodes long. i heard it was based off a manga that was never finished. but 3? nothing really even happened.

Its called Bus Gamer more like ASS Gamer. What did you expect?
TBH, i put it on for 2 seconds. The bishie art style and cheap animation put me off, the last type of anime i tried to watch like that was Weiss Kreuz (an anime about super hot men assassins that run a flower shop). I only watch them if they have a good story and are quite funny.

Still holding out at ep16 of Ghost Hound so it'll be some time before genjo get around to subbing the rest(much like Aria O sub have vanished)

.Hack/trilogy - 2 hrs'ish of CGI redone and reworked from the games 60/100 hr gameplay. Nice to watch but nothing special.. my pc had some trouble keeping up with the sub(1900x1024 x264) and would paused for a fraction of second during busy momments(strangely only when it show needed to use the static Tv interfearnce effect). Anyway back to the story.. if you never played the GU games(like me) but watched the anime + OVA it makes sense as it picks up where Hasso goes mad PK'ing and his Loss to Tri edge and finishes as short retread of the OVA.

New naruto and Bleach fillers... im torn, i hate filler but with this comes a noticable increase in general art quality, widescreen and certainly in naruto's case a jump in standard animation. The filler its sense for Naruto seems to be fitting in quite well blending in with the training arc so im betting they'll change the training arc so that he finish the technique against the new filler boss instead of just pure training. Bleach just seem soooo out of place, they're really going need to explain the time frame and come up with some water tight ending to some how get back on track... a new captain and what looks like the 1st royal house member to turn up and to disappear after messing with canon story not gonna be pretty.

It was a strange one, and surely rather pointless to bother with if it was only 3 episodes, although I quite enjoyed what I see and picked up the Tokyopop book the other week.
