from what ive heard, TSR is entering its final arc, from vol 24 onwards, (this last ova was released with vol23), and is likely to be finished by the end of the year, with xxxHolic finishing within a similar timeframe. So i wouldn't be surprised if they announced something solid about another series early next year, after the mangs's finished, and depending on how far the new Holic series goes, we may yet get a third series of Holic too

Does anyone have knowledge on doraemon??
Yeah i know its as old as the hills but does this exist as a decent fansub as the hong kong dvd boxed set i got leaves a hell of a lot to be desired, poor video quality & very bad broken bebelfish style subs.
Dont even know if they ever made it as official dvd's all the ones i see are dodgy hong kong ones.
Watched a few of the fansubbed doraemon movies & loved them, theres nothing else quite like it im in love with the whole thing.Last edited by importaku; 19-03-2008, 21:33.

Doremi fansubs have done 3 of the most recent movies but i can't find anything on the tv serieslooks like im stuck with the appauling engrish version.
Nobita's dinosaur & Nobita's jorney to the magic planet are great. Not really major plots or anything but really charming all the way through & i defy anyone not to get misty eyed at the end of nobitas dinosaur. If you don't your officially dead inside.

I have a few fansubbed episodes lying around. 1-7 I think, but I've never really checked the quality of them. I remember the group did a few more of them, possibly up to 21-ish episodes. You might be best off checking tokyotosho for a torrent of them.
All I know is that a lot of people have grown up with it so it's looked back on with a certain amount of nostalgia. Plus it's one of the longest running shows, possibly only beaten by Sazae-san. I'm surprised more of it hasn't been subbed because IIRC the episodes weren't very long. Something like 5-10 minutes from the files I had.
I'll see if I have them around somewhere...

Clannad 22: Hmmm, well. What to say.
Bit of a mess if I'm honest. Internal strife over the past fixed with a few words that could have been done a lot faster. I mean, they were in the same house in the morning yet the father leaves it until then to sort it. Just seems a bit...daft. Even with the confession scene right at the end I felt nothing since it had been so face-stabbingly obvious. Compared to the stuff at the beginning of the series, the grand climax just seemed a bit weak.
Need to find out about the game now. I'd like to see how it was all done originally although no idea where or the status of the translation.
Shakugan no Shana 22: Mix of awkwardness and relief:
Lots of lolz with Shana and her "How are babies made? Tell me now!" I'm currently pondering about whether the child before Yuji might actually be important; perhaps tied to the Silver in some way? Relief came from finally the teen drama is reaching some kind of actual conclusion. I can only hope in the last 2 episodes they don't make a mess of the ending by doing some **** like "We're alll saved and evil's vanquished because everyone found out about the miracle of love!!!!1"
Plus, Rosario+Vampie looks like they might go for a decent ending! \o/
Edit: Oh god. Just reached the Densha Otoko parody in Gintama. I almost passed out from laughing so hard.Last edited by Mr.Jeff; 23-03-2008, 00:20.

Clannad ep22 -
It was a bit stupid he waited till the last possible moment to install some confidence back in to Nagisa and make all the worries disappear, still it was about the only thing they had going to get some sort of climax out at the end. Despite the current ending(we know there's eventually more coming) all the good from ep1-20 have been more than worth the ticket and while Tomoya+Nagisa ending was not my prefered choice it was put together well enough for it to be convincing and close second.
Well what every happens in the extra eps lets hope we get something to finish of the Fuko story and a return the to comedy as the 'After Story' gotta be a OVA or short season itself i assume.
Shana ep22 - well it wasn't bad for teenie drama ep as you say
(baby joke was damn funny) and Yuji getting the RM stolen should lead to the next fights straight away. And as i've had the big Yuji sercet spoiled for me i don't thinks there any possibility for quick love fix ending(from Season1), its gonna be a straight up kickass cliffhanger me thinks.
From the screencaps i've seen of R+V its getting a Gonzo ending by the looks of it, totally gone of the manga's rails and installed they're own **** and still leave in an open end.. its just like Claymore all over again, it so ****ing stupid, a different(worse) story to tell an almost same ending.
Currently save Spice'n'wolf ep11/12 till 13's out and watching it all together, NarutoSD 51-52 double had all of 15 mins(of about 40) of new footage, at least Sakura was animated well.. we get another double bill next week and new opening i would think too.

Clannad 22 -
I liked it to be perfectly honest. I thought the scene with Akio shouting out encouragement and opening her eyes to the situation was quite powerful. I certainly got teary-eyed so it had the required effect on me. I like to think that the reason he didn't say anything earlier is in keeping with his love of theatre/plays/etc... so there needed to be more drama involved. Plus it gave him the chance to do a bit himself in front of an audience. There wouldn't be nearly enough emotional impact and drama involved if it was just them talking it out at home. I also think it wouldn't have had nearly as much impact on Nagisa if her dad hadn't said that in front of all those people i.e. I think it was more believable for her in that situation. (Or you could think it was bull**** and I'm just making excuses for the producers). Again I'm not really sure how else they would solve the internal strife than with a few words. I can't really think of anything myself but I'm interested in hearing if anyone else has a better idea in mind. All in all that probably was one of the most emotional scenes for me in the series (unless I'm forgetting earlier stuff) and so for me quite fitting for a scene in a "final" episode.
I take Jeff's point about it being a bit too convenient. A better writer may have engineered a more suitable situation without such a suspension of disbelief required on the part of the viewer I guess.
The confession scene... well it had the required effect on me again. I might possibly have added a kiss to seal the deal. As a culmination of the progress of their relationship over the series I thought it was quite fitting. I didn't mind that the pairing was obvious. I'd rather that than the pairing being out of the blue and with no explanation which thankfully didn't happen. To me personally, I don't think Clannad was really about the will he/won't he aspect of who he's going out with. What it reminds me of is actually Lamune. The pairing in that show was also obvious but it was enough for me to see that they acknowledged their feelings for each other in that show and it's almost the same here. Although they go one step further here and have a confession.
The thing I'm still not sure about is the other stuff that's let unresolved... Probably the main downer for me.
For me, the stuff they resolved in the episode I thought they handled well (with one or two slightly iffy things). If that is all we get of the main story then I'll be disappointed. If we get another season to tackle stuff that's not really been touched upon then it could be a good move. As it is I still prefer it to the other Key adaptations I've seen. Really enjoyed the ride to this point, I just hope that we're only halfway there. 7.5/10 for me with a mark or two being knocked off if it is the last we get of the main story arcs.

I think the reason I had problems with it was basically down to the pacing.
At the start we had several episodes set aside purely for the Fuuko(and to a lesser extent Kotomi) stuff which culminated in a great climax with the wedding scene.
For the Nagisa stuff, I probably could have dealt with it if it hadn't felt so rushed. The secret from her past that they saw fit to build an arc around just seemed to be resolved in like 5 minutes. Perhaps if they'd revealed it the day before the play giving a chance for Nagisa's father to (unsuccessfully) try to convince her that she wasn't to blame before ending up with the stage speech then it might have worked but as it was it just seemed to be an ending for the sake of ending it quickly. But what can you do.
I don't know why the confession scene right at the end didn't work for me. I just sort of ended up watching it like this >even though it's usually the type of hideously cheesy happy ending I enjoy. Perhaps it's due to the section beforehand being clips of their date rather than anything prolonged. *shrug* I liked the pairing just not the result.
So yeah, my major gripe seems to be the lack of time they had in order to do things. Mind you, there's no way they'd manage a longer length series even if they could get the timeslot and it'd be impossible for them to get a reasonable "end of part 1" ending to get a second series in any other way. Seems to be a problem Kyoani has with the adaptations of Kanon and Clannad; they start off trying to get everyone major their own storyline but by the end they never have the time needed to finish it properly.
Maybe I'm just in a bad mood or something... >_>
Edit: H20 finale; Uh, so yeah. What an odd ending to a disorganised series.
I'm not sure which was more wrong - killing off Hayami to teach Takuma his mother loved him or bringing her back through the power of spirit magic several years later. I can sort of forgive the latter for providing a happy ending though even if it was pretty random.

well ive just got round to watching Clannad 22, ill agree with Jeff in that it seemed abit rushed really, im sure they could have squeezed an ep from the fuuko/kotomi arcs to better deal with the main nagisa arc, it was the same with kannon, they spent far too long on earlier arcs at the expense of the later main arc, its as if they plan out for a 30ep series or something then get told 18/20 eps in, lol youve only got 22/24 whatever eps, overall tho is was a good series with some brilliant little comedic scenes, as for emotional impact etc i still hold Air as the best of the key adaptions, its the only one of the three that has seriously made me get abit emotional over it, of course it has been quite a while since i watched Air, so my comparison may not be overly accurate
as for more clannad, i know around the halfway mark there were rumours of a second series floating around, but i havnt heard anything as of late, and if there is too be one, we could be in for a wait, what with Haruhi S2, Lucky Star S2, and more Full Metal Panic if the novels have finished by then, planned
