AraragiXSenjougahara bit at the end which was pretty damn fast for relationship to develop by anime standards and i have to say i wish more shows had characters like these which get to the point. Also the payoff at the end with snail turning up as a upgraded ghost was brilliant.

Just watched this myself and I pretty much agree with everything you said. The pacing of the series is just amazing; concise yet indepth at the same time and the characters are all so interesting. Show of the season for me.

Edit: Also watched the 6th Kara no Kyoukai movie. Not quite to the standard of the previous ones since it was trying to build too much out of a charcter that hasn't had much in any screentime. Possibly would have been better with 2 hours to give more of Shiki and her viewpoint.
That said, it was vertiible delight to see and was still fairly good. Nice little segment for the 7th movie near the end too. Looking forward to finally seeing the second half of the 2nd movie.

Bakemonogatari ep6 - another really strong showing, some get back and to between Snail/Araragi and Senjougahara/Araragi,

then that shadowing about he'd rather have someone else kill him than Senjougahara at the end nearly turned true, half laughing/half shocked at him getting the **** beat out of him by monkey girl, that 1st punch head first into the concrete , good job he is half vampire... wonder if he'll show any fighting skills or try to talk himself out of it.

Best show this year.

Having just caught up with Bakemonogatari myself, I'd have to echo the superlatives thrown its away. It's the best summer show for me and I'll just have to wait and see whether it is the year's best.

Just finished watching Godannar (from 2003). Quite enjoyed it. Reminds me I need to write my own Super Robot show.

Oh man. Just watched about 16 episodes of Ippo season 2 in about a day and a half. It's awesome to have it back. I love the whole crew especially Takamura. Ace to see them all back in action. I'm sort of glad there's some focus on other character's fights besides Ippo's. His fights tend to follow the same pattern (mostly) so it's nice they're switching things up. Looking forward to the remainder of it now and hopefully that big Takamura fight.

The only things are I preferred the music from the first season especially when coupled with the matches. This was especially personified in that moment with the Sendo - Ippo fight at the end of it which was just perfect. When the music kicks in... Not especially keen on Kumi's new VA but she hasn't had a big part in this so far so it's not too bad.

just finished watching Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka. It was pretty average but had some really funny bits scattered throughout so I was enjoying... but why oh why did someone not warn me about the end?!?! There should have been some sort of disclaimer at the start of the show or something. seriously

You should have read further back in the thread, man (I know it's rather large). Some of us talked about Akane iro's averageness/awfulness. I remember watching it strictly as a guilty pleasure and the fact it was 12 eps so only a few afternoons worth of viewing if that.

haha don't forget Akaneiro's OVA/dvd extra ep... blows the last ep away... truely stupid show. And Index promises lots, but takes ages to get payoffs for the mini story arcs which makes it feel like watching guy shouting at each other for 2/3eps before fighting in DBZ, its at least worth watching the story arc with Railgun vs Vector guy.

Incidentally on the subject of visual novel adaptations, Shuffle has now been translated and is available to buy for the 'bargain' price of €36.95 . Full hentai version, not a cut down for consoles version. Are Manga Gamer's translations any good?

Wow. Just finished Ippo Season 2. Amazing stuff. I'm glad I waited to marathon it. I don't think I would have been able to stand the wait between the multi episode fights. It had one of the best fights (the last one in the series) I can remember and one of best "OMFG awesome!" fist pumping moments since Gurren Lagann, especially after all the **** that guy pulled in the build up to the fight. The aftermath was hilarious too. Typical Takamura and that episode was bettered with the introduction of Itagaki's family. I love me some bad wordplay.

Really enjoyed the last Haruhi episode. There's something deeply amusing about watching Mikuru get tormented constantly.

i watched tales from earthsea on film4 this afternoon.
glad i never got round to actually buying it, thought it was pretty bad.
