Yeah, I did pick up the box set. Haven't looked at the movie yet, but I probably will at some point. Something tells me that by cutting scenes they must have introduced some plot holes, ne?
(and the movie format also means that we don't get to hear "After, in the Dark", which can't be a good thing )

The movie does look terrible compared to the series in terms of the transfer, yes. There's also no dubs (which is no bad thing, trust me). On the other hand, it significantly expands on the final ep in the OVA. To the point where the final sequence goes into mind blowing mode. At least the music still sounds good.

Got some sad news, went onto mangascreener.com and they have announced that Beck manga has now been licensed and they wont be releasing anymore volumes.
i wonder what will happen with the anime now.... newmiyamoto, any info???

As I had reported quite a while back (I'm sure I did), the manga was being licensed by tokyopop and mangascreener had long ago decided to drop the project (I was told this directly) since that day I have been getting together a worthwhile team for this project and after MANY false starts it seems like we are nearing release time...

As for the anime, I have said that funimation are picking it up, but no official announcement will come till the next conv.
A-E's stance on this and further developments will be revealed shortly.

Don't pay any attention to me... It was just a chore to edit... worse than fafner... Add to that the fact that i hadnt seen any of it and you kinda get why i'm not too fond of it. I shall sit down and watch it soon though

The dude has a point, though. Jackie Chan as Gai and Ed Norton as Shikamaru do kinda make sense.
