Well, there is the 'director's cut' Platinum NGE being released. Dunno how big the differences are, but maybe someone could venture an opinion it.

I mean the series ones, not just the director's cut discs of the last few eps.

Quick question... I keep hearing good things about Jinki Extend, but seeing as I'm running short of spare time at the moment I cant really waste it downloading a **** series.

Anyone watching this at the moment, and if so, and chance of a overview and telling me if its worth getting into?

read back few pages there some stuff there about it, its love or hate series really, theres no middle ground. As for me i said i liked and the reasons why.

I've actually kept watching it... Kind of. If it's a 13-episode series, I'm starting to worry because more than halfway in I still don't have a clue about what's going on, and what's the link, between the two storylines.


Also, Mahou Sensei Negima keeps getting better and better. It's actually quite enjoyable now -- not Lohe Hina good, but good nevertheless.

The platinum release of Evangelion is merely the entire series, episodes 1 - 26, remastered and repackaged as 7 DVDs instead of the origina 8. The volumes 6 and 7 contain the director's cut versions of episodes 22, 23, and 24, but they're remastered unlike the original director's cut editions which still had the frame shake, dusty cels etc.

Ah, cheers for that. So I won't need to pick that up then (NGE has already ****ed with my head enough). I am looking at the Escaflowne UK collection thing (series in two sets, each ?30) as it sounds right up my street, even if it is a little old. Having said that, I've yet to see GitS film or Spirited Away. The credit card may have to come out soon.

MyHime ep19-21 released today, and wow,WoW, WOW. The story and action have really picked up paced...

I never expected Takumi to end up dead, with Hyper/evil Mikoto beating the Ninja girl so easily and then watching the facial expressions and body movement of Mai just before and and after takumi died, pure class and when she went mad wow, Mikoto even managed to keep up with Mai insane power to fromthe most unlikey Arch Rivals yet and themusci as always thinks the action so well.

thing with the last couple of episodes of naruto - how weak do they want the genin to look, i mean the sand nins come in and kick the sounds ass in one episode.

Well, genin on the scale of things are weak,

the Sound nin are above Chounin in power and just equal to Jounin in a 2 on 1 with stage2 activated. Plus the 2 new dead sound nin's got out numbered and surprised attacked after fighting grueling battles with 2 top Jounin's and then the Genin's so the sand nin's pretty much had the advantage on there side from being just fresh. Anyway we still have Kimi to go and from the manga his battle ends quite differently.

yeah i know that but, these are the same genin that kicked sand ass not 20 eps before

just seems (strength wise) to go good>great>bad>crushed and then suddenly amazing, if you catch my drift

just hate when they yo yo things like this perfect example is naruto: one minute hes amazing the next he's awful - he can make good decisions and then stupid ones the next.

If naruto if consistantly proven to be insightful yet stupid, all the people he beats are by default stupid too, thus they and the fights have no real value

The Sound nin only beat the jounins because they went level 2 and the jounins were tired and had barely any chakra.

oracle - the genin you're watching right now aren't the same genin who beat the sand some 60 odd episodes ago. Kiba? Chouji? They both lost their prelims back in the chuunin arc.

If the Leaf 5 consisted of:

Lee
Neji
Shino
Shikamaru
Naruto

Then it would've been a different story IMO.

Regarding Naruto's performance against Kimimaro, I think he was naturally dumber than usual because he was furious and frustrated about the Sound taking Sasuke. Going into kyuubi mode really drops his IQ Besides hes facing Orochimaru's former container.

But man I just can't wait for the remaining eps in this arc. No more kiba crap!

I don't think it helped with who the leaf were matched against. For example, Neji against anyone else would have been a win for Neji. Plus as far as fighting goes, Shika is absolutely useless. I would agree with Razz that a fully fit Lee and Shino would have been a win for the Leaf. Face it Firsty, Kiba got utterly tanked. Even Ino would have stood a better chance. Well, maybe not

I don't like the way Bleach is heading, however. Looks like it is trying to become Naruto. I want more Kon, but having had a flick through some future manga volumes I don't think I'm going to get it. So there goes the humour that made Bleach such a stand out anime.
