Aww, I quite like Capeta; it's like Initial D for kids... Even featured an AE86 cameo in episode 2 if I recall.

If you like the anime of Paradise Kiss, then I strongly urge you to read the manga. Quite a bit of stuff's been cut of the anime's second half, especially the last episode.

Interesting. Any particular group doing the manga? Or is it licensed?

Still need to catch up with the anime as I've been following AF-F and Froth-Bite's version but they've only released up to episode 4 so far. I'm tempted to download IYF's version and then delete them later if/when AF-F and F-B get their version of the eps out as I'll definitely be archiving their version I reckon.

It's licensed by Tokyopop but there is one place where it's available for download.

FB's translations are definitely better than IY's, which are full of spelling and grammatical errors. You only need to look at the opening theme's translation to see that it's changed at least 3 times. Saying that though, they have been getting their releases out very promptly and they're perfectly understandable. What you suggested is exactly what I'm doing, watching IY's and archiving FB's.

Well I got the manga sorted. Now to catch up with the series before I read through the manga as I wouldn't want to spoil it. I also came across another related manga in my search. It's called Gokinjo Monogatari and focuses on Miwako's sister and her husband in their younger days. There was also an anime of it(50 episodes plus a movie) but as yet it's not been subbed and seems unlikely that it ever will unless someone decides to pick it up(it aired back in 1995).

Finished watching the Fafner special today, courtesy of Mendoi subs. It's a prequel of sorts, concentrating on the prototype Fafners before the one's we're familiar with in the series. Focuses on two new characters with some cameo appearances from a few people from the series also.

Nice animation, and was quite a good watch overall though it's been so long since I'd seen all of Fafner that I'd forgotten who everybody was.

They managed a kickass swerve in that episode i was so expecting Buster Machine 2 to be in that Gavity well, or to burst out of that shell when Nono was looking ot be in major trouble, but disappointment soon turned when Nono started all that loading sequence and became a Buster Machine herself, and the insane power was laughing cool, seem's we're missing a Buster Machine 4 to 6 wonder want happened to them. Im still hoping Buster machine 2 makes a show in the last 2 episodes, as we all know Space Monster usually get bigger and Nasty and large in Numbers when they get a new Machine, or that we learn about how Nono came to be.

For me, episode 4 of Gunbuster 2 was the worst and best episode so far.

Worst because a friend of mine had said months ago after watching the raw that the legendary Buster machine isn't what you think it is or expecting. And indeed it wasn't. On the other hand, it was the best looking episode yet with so much happening on-screen at once. I wouldn't be surprised if the budget for that lone episode eclipsed the three before it.

You've got to hand it to the creators for creating previews that tease beyond belief. None of what I expected happened, but I did guess at the very beginning of the series that Akane would probably be the first to lose her powers due to fooling around with Kazu. And it happened, she chose Kazu over being an Otome, unless she chose to become Kazu's Otome... Nice to see them get a happy ending after their tragic fall in HiME.

Gunbuster 2 ep4 was great. So much stuff happening on screen at one point, my jaw was literally on the floor. As Taka said I can imagine the budge for the episode was rather large. Got thrown off throughout the episode really and did not

guess that Nono was a buster machine.

Pretty big surprise all in all. Only problem now is the wait for the next episode

Fate Stay Night episode 1 is out there. Looking forward to checking it out as well as the new aria episode.

Aria ep 11 is really, really, really good, get that before Fate/Stay(nearly finished that download myself). So funny and heart warming, Athena mess-up's are laugh out loud funny. How many episodes have we got left of it 1 or 2?

Got a bit to watch now, Solty Rei ep9 and 10, Karin ep7 and Noein ep10. and Otome/Fate when the downloads finish.

2 episodes left of Aria I think. On the plus side there's another season of episodes to look forward to sometime this year I believe.

Well, Suzuka's over and what a ride these last few episodes have been!

I enjoyed the last episode though one part bugged me to high hell: how easily Suzuka was swayed by Honoka's words as they walked home. She was fuming and in more denial than ever before due to Yamato's actions; I just found it really odd how her change of heart came about so quickly, considering they had another one-sided confrontation on the stairs of their apartment complex. With that said though, definitely one of the best series of 2005 and it was from the summer no less!
