Had ?80 taken from my account stating "Balance adjustment for excess funds transferred to bank" earlier this week

Checked my bank and had an extra ?80 put in.

      Strange.

They're most likely fake, like all of the flash memory on ebay. But the fake stuff works fine anyway, so..

Fake memory does loose data more often. Its your risk, but how important is your data.

Piece of mind for an extra ?20

I use that site GT linked to lots, def legit and very good service. Do you HAVE to have SanDisk? They have a Kingston 2Gb card for 18 quid.

Can someone help me please, as I've not seen this before! I've sold an item on eBay, and the person appears to have paid but it's 'pending' according to Paypal. I've had an email which says

                  Dear Matt,

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx has initiated a PayPal payment to you - funded from the sender's bank account - on 21 Aug. 2006.

                  ...

If the payment is still pending or the funds are not collected after 30 days, the transaction will be automatically cancelled. The sender can cancel this transaction anytime before you collect the funds.
I've no idea what that means. Do I have to accept the funds because I can't see an option for it? Are they in my account? Shall I send the item? Paypals help wasn't at all helpful.

                  Thanks, for any help!

What type of account do you have? Is the person who sent you the money the correct person (as in they who won the auction)?

I believe the personal account type (ie. ones you can't use with credit cards) have to accept most payments they get, there should be a little button on the main page next to where the payment is listed telling you to click to accept the payment.

I ask these questions cos it could be a spam/phishing email

I'm pretty sure it's not phishing, the payment shows in my Paypal account, just as 'pending' rather than completed. I have the proper type of account, so it's not that I've reached a limit of received funds or anything.

I'm sure it's because they're trying to fund from a bank account rather than a card, and that's maybe why it's taking longer, but the email I got implies I need to do something!

I think you always get one of these emails unless you have a business or premier account, just as a courtesy to stop you exceeding your monthly limit (which freezes your account until the month ends or you upgrade).

                            Paypal Grrrrrr

I'm currently having A LOT of problems with Paypal and was wondering if anyone had gotten through to someone on the phone? Every option I pick, I just get a recorded message pointing me to a different URL every time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can't help in any way but I did have aproblem with them before and found it nigh on impossible to get somebody on the phone - they were quick at replying to queries via email or their submission forms though !!!

Report them to the OFT mate. They also have to be regulated by the FSA in this country so if you want try your local Citizens Advice Beureu.
