When I tried to do a chargeback on someone a while back, it took PayPal 30 days to process it before telling me that there were no funds in their account.

Therefore I used eBay's buyer protection and they were the ones who gave me my money back. I had to fax a copy of the e-mail PayPal sent me though to prove that PayPal had not refunded any money to me.

Rather long winded and strange system but I got my money in the end.

Wouldnt the account go into negative balance like when you make a claim?

There's 2-3 ways of doing this AFAIK:

        1. First, try going to Paypal and getting refunded through them. They can refund if the seller has money in their account.
        2. As above, go to ebay for protection from buyer, although this is covered upto ?120 or something.
        3. Simplest way, just ask your Credit Card company to reverse the payment. If you used a debit card, I think it might not be possible.

That'll cost him ?15 towards admin fees tho.

See my post in buster_broon's thread for my experience of Paypal chargebacks.

As for eBay's protection thingy, you have to go through a ridiculously lengthy and contorted process to get back whatever amount you lost minus their ?15 excess fee. Plus they reserve the right to issue you the money in dollars

I'm having a little trouble with Ebay at the moment, some advice would be nice please

Basically I won an item for the gf, and paid via Paypal as I normally do. A day or so later I got an email from the seller saying that his Paypal account had been frozen (probably due to security checks) and as such he would refund my money - which in fairness he has. The seller made no mention of the item - which I still wanted, so I emailed him and said thanks, but can I still purchase the item.

I got a mail back saying that it wouldn't be a problem I could send a cheque, do a bank transfer or he would add Nochex to the auction. I don't have Nochex but sending a cheque is fine but since then I have heard nothing!

I've emailed at least 3 times and got no reply. This seller still have active actions, still seems to be selling stuff, and is leaving feedback for people, as recent as last night.

Now I don't want to keep emailing him as I don't want to get negged for wanting the item I rightly won! I just find it crazy that for probably the first time in the history of Ebay it's not a non payer that's trouble - it's someone who doesn't actually want my money!

              What should I do?!

Maybe he just hasn't checked his mail yet, I sold a CD a few days ago and went all paranoid when I didn't recieve an email in like 5 hours, I must have sent him about 5 mails, then two days later I got a reply and everything was fine, maybe just wait a little while longer.

I had a girl bidding/buying some of my capcom stuff a while ago, who kept giving excuses for not paying. Whats her username?

I had a timewaster recently who won a lot of saturn games, I contacted him to remind him to pay and got nothing, then I check his account overview and.... "no longer a resistered user" ****.

Just file a none paying bidder report and you will get you fees back. Some people just think because ebay is faceless you can get away with not buying things you've bidded on.

I'm selling something at the moment. it was ?10 starting bid or ?20 BIN. The chap had no feedback, bid at ?10 and asked if I would pull the auction and send it for free. Told him no chance as it is worth more than that. Now when I look he has 34 feedbacks, all positive. When I see what he's bought, every single one of them is 1p e-books. Somehow I don't think he'll be paying me.

I've had quite a few non-payers. This time I will go through the non-paying procedure. Pain in the bloody arse I tell thee.

got an email from the buyer of the resi 4 controller and she asked what my intentions were

told her on the 23rd (1 week after the auction) i intended to leave some negative feedback and file a npb and complaint with ebay

mentioned all about binding contracts and how in the past i've saw auctions through to the end even though i didnt want them and just stuck them back on ebay

she paid this morning - god bless her
