I was selling some Apple iBook keyboard protectors last year that I had no use for, problem was they only fitted a certain model of ibook. My item description was litteraly 3 lines of text in nice size 20 bold Arial font outlining the model of ibook they would fit and what the postage terms were.

Some jerk then buys one and emails me to say it doesn't fit his iBook. When I tell him why and he negs me "tricky seller, read the small print". WTF what small print? You mean the item description dick slap.

    Pissed me off profoundly.

Simple fact is there are people stupid enough to not read item descriptions and you'll never know if someone who has bought of you is one of these idiots until they have left you negative feedback

Anyways i rarely sell things on ebay unless they are items i know that i couldn't sell elsewhere, i mainly use ebay for buyng sat and dc games now. Either way i heard of the pitfalls of trying to sell abroad so i always kept my sales to the UK, your situation sucks, try complaining to ebay because you didn't do anything wrong, seeing as the buyer can't read and has a god awful taste in videogames maybe that negative will be overturned.

Shadow the hedgehog was available worldwide on ebay and an Amercian user bids on it and wins it and the auction clearly states its British

                  shadow

now he receives it and tells me it doesnt work

i told him to buy a nice cheap freeloader and that should stop the problem

but he retorts to cheap threats about negative feedback and paypal

told him in my best scottish to chase himself and now i wake up to my first negative, what a complete dumbass

recently sold about 30 auctions and i had 8 problems:
2 American users who bid then realised i was in the UK and just never responded to emails even though the item was listed in Sterling
                  the shadow problem
                  5 non paying bidders

any other members hate ebay and the 90% idiot members?

the place is just starting to turn into a complete joke
I know how you feel Jase, i was gutted when i got my first neg. Especially as i worked so hard to keep my nose clean and my bidders happy.

I've now had about 4 negs in total and none were my fault.

My first was from an American that bidded on a Pal PS1 game. He obviously realised after he won that it was a Pal game and he completely ignored all my emails etc. I used to let non-payers off and relist the item but i was starting to get mightily pissed off with people not paying so i negged him. If he had answered my messages and apologised for not reading the description properly i probably would've let it slide. About 3 weeks later i go on my ebay and the knobend has negged me back stating that the auction was misleading, even though it clearly said Pal game in 2 places. I've since learned my lesson and never open up Pal games to bidders outside Europe.

My second neg was from a seller of a Jap PS1 game. I'd won the auction and basically the seller wasn't best pleased that i'd gotten a bargain. He then refused to send me the game even though i paid via paypal as soon as the auction ended. He told me that he had sold the game offline and was no longer in his possesion. I then negged him and he retaliated.

The third one pissed me off more than all the others put together. I bought a PS1 game off a seller and paid him through paypal immediately. He then sends the game out over 3 weeks after i'd paid, in a plain brown envelope, with no padding/bubblewrap. Obviously the case was smashed to pieces when it arrived. I messaged him to see what the crack was and heard nothing back. For some reason i was feeling generous that day so i gave him a neutral and stated that the game took a long time coming and the packaging was poor which resulted in damage. He then has the audacity to give me a negative and blame the postal service for the lateness and damage even though the item was clearly dated and i recieved it within 2 days of it being sent. Grrrrr make me angry thinking about it now even though it was over a year ago.

The last of my negs was from a buyer who bought a PS1 game from me and negged me because there was some slight damage to the manual. The game was 99p FFS! and i stated that the game was used but in decent condition overall. The damage was negligible and to most ebay sellers it would've been MINT/NR MINT R@RE!1.

I used to give +'ve feedback as soon as the buyer paid. I now wait for them to give me feedback and if they aren't happy i at least have my feedback reply to barter with.

I do like ebay but it's becoming hard work and the gains are getting constantly smaller.
