And on the issue of reporting items to ebay it was something I tried in the past when I had more faith in the site, The normal procedure they have is to send you a semi pre compiled reply that normally states they require some sort of confirmation from the original manufacturer about why the product is infringing the original makers license.

When I had contacted them in the past they never made a proactive action to contact the manufacturer themselves and almost seem to leave the situation in the hands of the person who originally reported the infringing item to get some kind of covering letter from the license/trademark holders saying this isn't viable.

Of course the item runs its course and they get their listing fee and the seller also profits, Unfortunately as ebay covers so many different item types the staff aren't able to cater for any particular category and set of products (see currys employees ) and thats why you have a very badly organised marketplace which suffers from a majority rule serving an average set of guidelines.

Its one of the reasons why I was so keen to be involved in a site that can sort this kind of problem for people immediately.

We should have a sticky with e-mails and address for sony, nintendo etc for all fraudulant activity to be sent to. I don't mind forwarding stuff along when i'm browsing eBay.

I'm not suprised that Pirated stuff is being sold just how blatant it is plus the BIG Company they are messing with. All these people could find themselves with a jail sentence (heres hoping) if they carry it on considering the losses made to these companys.

What a draconian P.O.V theres many people who use these illegit files on here and its been skirted many times, the fact that they sell them is not much greater, which just means we be more secure when ordering.

Reporting them to sony wont get anyone brownie points....

The layman trying to sell stuff, would rather choose a site which would give their product maximum coverage to gain them maximum profits on the items they're trying to sell.

They would also encounter the problem that their item is going up against a higher proportion of the same item at any one time while being viewed at by a userbase that isn't necissarily there for the single category type

Take an example of trying to sell a car, would you list it in the local paper, or in AutoTrader?

If the person wanted maximum exposure they would choose both, Also you'd have to remember that the local paper wouldn't normally charge a listing fee.

Still, wish you all the best with the site, and hope that it gets the recognition that it deserves.

But with auctions you have to make a choice, you cant do both sites, otherwise it wouldnt be a fair auction, would it?

Thats very true, It was more of an answer for your hypothetical situation but I guess a situation where it could be possible is for fixed price buy it now style items and multiples.

Interestingly enough the viewing counters for similar items have been comparable so its definately a positive aspect for a "specialised" dedicated site over a site that trys to encorporate virtually everything.

seems those pirate psp game disc auctions are still up. thought ebay would have just pulled them off

also a few pirate ps2 game auctions going on aswell. it so obvious when the picture says dvd game on the label lol

Go to advance search, tick the "Search title and description", select "exact phrase" from the drop drop list and search for "backup purposes" or "own the originals" - it's not just PSP and PS2 stuff
