He was losing, what, over ten seconds a lap? Even if changing to dries only lasted 5 laps he'd have still been up overall. What an absurd decision to stay out.

That was just STUPID!! Possibly ruined his chances of taking the championship now. Place today did not matter at all, all he had to do was cash in on the points to win it and they let him stay out way too long. But he also did look like he came into the pit lane very hot too. So I point the blame at both the team and LH himself for rushing the pit slightly.
At least we're gonna have a belter of a race next week, just hope Lewis can pull it off now!

Watched this live and was gobsmacked Hamilton just kept going round without pitting. McLaren's strategy and Hamilton's running wide in the pit lane entry were both woeful and so out of character. Gut feeling said that if it had been Schumacher or say Villenueve in that car they would have pitted and told the team to effing sort it two or three laps earlier.
Anyway what's done is done, four points is still quite a lead, guess if it's a points tie after final race, championship winner is decided on number of wins ? still think Hamilton will do it personally, but if we have rain for third race in a row could be anyone's. Shame we have to wait a fortnight.

Which is why Lewis only needs third, as I believe he'll still have more wins than Alonso. Thing is, it is quite conceivable that Alonso and both Ferrari's could finish in front of him. I get the feeling that if Ferrari are on the pace, Raikonnen will take victory, thus stopping Alonso from winning the title also.
Did anyone see the Hamilton program on BBC3 last night? It was pretty tacky and seemed more like something ITV might do for most of it, but it did show what an utterly boring human being James Allen is. The different between his interview and when they spoke to Murray Walker was like night and day. Murray seems to hold more charisma in his little toe than Allen does in his whole fabric and listening to Murray talk in general was a pleasure. Allen on the other hand, made some decent points, but just didn't sound at all enthused, and you could see the interviewer was struggling to stay interested.

Bad luck for Haga, he did all he could there, 2 wins, and lost by 2 points, must have been gutting.
Terrible news about Abe too
Great result for Button yesterday too. God knows why they've kept Ruebens on for next season, he's supposed to be great in the wet and finished 15th compared to Buttons 5th.
Was also entertaining watching Ralph trying to secure a seat next season with a banzai drive, shame he ended up retiring as he was doing pretty well. Also gutting for Kubica to retire from the lead.

Hamilton just seemed to drive like a nutter for me. With delamination like that you dont think you just go in. He drove way too fast on the pit entry and it was his own fault he ended up beached. Not impressed with him and Ron Dennis either yet again this season, if it had been any other team that asked the marshells for a push he would go balistic (he did when Schummy did it) and say you should never ask for it, but their he was telling him over the intercom to do just that.
Alonso please win then it might wipe the smirk of his face
Oh I loved the way official sponsor of Mclaren Brundle got kicked off the back of the track as well on build up, marshells wouldnt let him move any further, he was kicking off as well hehe

Really think people are being overly critical of Hamilton. People seem to forget that he is in his rookie season, a season in which he is legitimately fighting for the world title, and during which he has made very few mistakes. It not really surprising that he made a mistake in this last race, bearing in mind he was partaking in the race which would win him the world title, something I'm sure he couldn't of even contemplated 6 months ago, and something which is bound to make you a little edgy !
Sure he's got a little cocky of late, but who wouldn't with the success he's had, and at least unlike allot of the current F1 drivers he has started to succeed first before getting swept away with the F1 lifestyle and the usually cockiness that brings. Compared to his 2 time world champion team mate I think he's shown great maturity myself.
I really don't understand either way how people can still be hoping for Alonso to win. He spent the first part of the year failing miserably as he was not able to cope with having a competitive team mate, throwing his toys out of the pram at an given moment. He was implicit in any fraud which did take place at Mclaren, and then attempted to use information he had on that fraud to extort a better position for himself in the team, as again he was unable to cope on a level playing field.
