I forgot to mention some great shots of the cars with vorticies coming off the rear wings when it was raining but not heavily. Looked really cool.

Can't believe Ferrari put full wets on Kimi so early on, right n00b move, if the rain was going to be heavy enough for full wets there must have been a 50% chance it would be too heavy to even race. Ferrari really are shooting themselves in the foot this year. By the time they and McLaren sort things out Button could have a big lead in the championship.

Good to see Toyota doing so well also.

Wonder what Honda are thinking about pulling out now.

        Latvala in Portugal.

I normally enjoy watching Latvala's crashes, but that looked pretty horrific.

....... and that is why WRC is for fookin nutters.

I saw that on Dave's coverage yesterday as well. It's amazing how brave racing drivers are; they don't fear pushing the car past it's limits and don't think of the consequences like what happened there. In case people don't know; the driver and co-driver were fine after the crash.

Like I said before, when I'm watching Latvala it's like watching McRae again... always maximum attack ! Latavala was leading the rally doing amazing times before he crashed in spectacular style.

It was also great to see Gronholm back ! he hasn't lost any speed, driving a car he doesn't know well. I hope he changes his mind and will make a come back ! We need someone to be able to challenge Loeb for the victory.

Can't see anyone challenging Loeb properly ... unless they also stick them in a Citroen.

Latvala's crash was amazing first time I saw it.

No-one's mentioned the stunning laps that Jenson put in when his closest rivals were in the pits. absolutely blinding bit of driving right when it mattered. No-one can say he's not winning on merit. Glad to see him back at the top.

McLaren invited to a meeting with the FIA on 29th April, sure we haven't heard last of this.

It did look awesome. I wish I had some high res photos of that!

Wow they've sacked Dave Ryan. Ouch!

Hamilton is a lucky boy to walk out of this one unscathed (reprimanded) - Although his reputation has took a fair old beating in my opinion.

I agree. I am glad to see him doing well as he seems to have lost the smugness that comes with his job, and is making the best of his equipment. He deserves a shot at the WDC, and this year could well be his best chance ever so must go for it.

Regarding Mclaren, So Ryan has taken a silver arrow (pun intended) and Whitmarsh will be next considering the WMSC will find them guilty of bringing the sport in to disrepute. Ron must be wondering where it all went wrong.

James Allen makes some good points, over on his blog, about how the sacking of Ryan means that he won't have to face the music in Paris thus sparing Mclaren management from accusations of complicity. I hope he (Ryan) got a hefty severance package.

I think this FIA hearing is going to turn nasty as I recall them saying during Spy-gate in '07 that Mclaren's future conduct would be under close scrutiny, and this would be the second time within two years that the team finds itself being dragged before the WMSC . If you were a Merc exec you might be wondering when to pull the plug, right now (not withstanding the 40% share holding though of course) And if part of the Mclaren management, just how much longer the name over your office door might remain in place.
