I doubt very much whether BAR will want to keep Button anyway, he's shown himself to have no real commitment to the future at BAR. They have already put a lot of speculation out concerning his replacement.

      Really??

Nick Fry said not long ago that they wanted Button to see his career out at BAR and were doing everything they could to get him to stay. And the Honda people are keen too from what I understood.

Some talk on one of the news sites of Williams maybe getting Honda engines in return for not taking up the option on Button for next year (or at least as part of a deal).

I can't say I'm surprised. There's talent there if he can get enthusiastic again (something that shouldn't be hard once he looks seriously at the situation over at Williams right now), and he comes with a metric ****load of sponsorship thanks to the way ITV keep losing their load over him.

Davidson in particular is the one whose name was getting thrown around. Why invest everything into a driver who was forced to race for your team by a court decision??

                FECK.

Just realised that the "Cricket day" I agreed to be dragged along to for my wife's work is on Sunday. This fecking Sunday. Muppets - how dare they like that dull sport rather than noisy cars?!?

Just booked my tickets for Silverstone Endurance Race
Official website of Silverstone, home of British Motor Racing. Buy tickets for all events including Formula 1, driving experiences or enquire about venue hire.

also, just watched last Sunday?s Top Gear, love the race spec DB9, so low and fast; the McLaren Mercedes; any road legal car that can get through 21 gallons of petrol (95 litres ? about ?83) in 19 minutes, admittedly at full speed deserves some coverage.

                  Top quality program once again.

Reckon the British GP will still go ahead this weekend?

Wasn't it 90, not 19? 90 minutes at 200mph is 300 miles, which is a perfectly sensible distance to travel on one tank.

prehaps your right, works out about 14 mpg.
Deleted the DVD now, so can't check, will edit my post.

Reminds me, 10 years ago I read that the crane type vehicle that takes the space shuttle to it's launch place did 11 gallons to the mile !

Marmite, sure F1 will go ahead unless anything else happens in meantime.

I thought Clarkson said 19 minutes myself, who knows!

I think F1 is in real trouble at the moment. Silverstone better bring some excitement or people will be turning off in their droves, especially after the US gp and a tr?s dull French gp.

Saying that though I watched a NASCAR race from late night 5 and THAT was dull. Made F1 look exciting but at least the NASCARs had a few massive crashes!!

                            It was 19 minutes = 66 miles.

there's still 9 races left (inc Silverstone), think things will only "hot" up if Alonso doesn't manage to finish a few races and we end up with a possible three way title race.
Think the newish points system doesn't really help, people like Alonso can now settle for second or third without dropping too many points.

More interested in the MotoGP this weekend, GP bikes at Laguna and the fantastic corkscrew, wait 'til you see that on a onboard camera

RE: the 19/90 mins I was right for a change, re added it to my original post.

Is the Moto GP on telly (not Sky) on sunday? Melissa is away and I fancy a petrol head day!! Side-note; I hate that bloody corkscrew in Forza!

All the drivers are complaining about the aero changes limiting their ability to draft close to other cars and that is obviously affecting overtaking. Was there ANY overtaking for position on-track in France? Pit-stop passing is dull.
