yesterdays news but good to see McRae getting a drive in this years WRC of Wales. Trouble is, with Citroen & Peugeot pulling out, good seats next year will be rarer than a customs free delivery from Play-Asia. Prehaps I've missed some news, where is Loeb going next year ? or has nothing been announced yet.

I was looking for official mention of Sato leaving too actually but there is no mention of it on any site.
Def looks like Sato is out if Button stays but I'm getting the feeling Button is going to have to go to Williams, maybe Sato will stay in that situation.
Williams have confirmed a Cosworth engine deal for next year saying that their experience with V8's will pay dividends as most other teams have little to no experience with them, I'm not so sure. Time will tell. As with all the F1 slow-down rule changes I'm sure the teams will get just the same performance and similar horsepower out of the new spec 2.4's.

Flicking through the channels on Sky Sunday morning, I happened to spot a racing series that I'd not seen before; the GP2 racing. This race was at Istanbul, so I'm assuming it's a support race for the F1 stuff, but if so, why is coverage of this series so spartan?
It really was top stuff, 23 laps of exciting single seater racing, with loads of over-taking and scraps for position. After watching that stuff it would make the F1 race look pretty drab. Seems that the cars are 4 litre V8s with no traction control - it made for very entertaining sport in the wet.

Right - is it actually a support race for F1, or was it just by chance they were at the same circuit this w/e?
The web site isn't really clear: http://www.gp2series.com/en/website/gp2series/

GP2 I've seen about three races this year and yes the racing is close and very entertaining.
Thought the F1 this weekend was better, poor old Montoya eh, bet Kimi couldn't believe it, I still think Alonso will win it, can't seem Kimi winning all five remaining races which he needs to do basically - even if he does, then Alonso only needs five thirds.
Anyone know if the new A1 race series (which gets underway in a month) is getting Live TV coverage ?
