I bet Lulu really wishes he had those 20 points from the race where he was pretty much guaranteed second place before his tyre blew.

it was quite a good race, must have been really tense for Alonso and Vettel going flatout for 2 hours on that track so close to each other !! good showing from both of them!

a real shame for Hamilton though, nobody to blame for this if you ask me, they should have given each other just a little bit more space....

      can't wait for Suzuka !!

The start was great with Alonso being ever aggressive and pulling that block on Seb.

After about 15 minutes, with the front runners being stunningly consistent and not swapping positions, it became quite dull. Even with safety car sessions, nothing was really happening so I was glad when more pressure was put on Alonso with the pitting and some unexpected knock outs.

For me it was a standard race, livened up near the end. Sniff Petrol's assessment on Twitter was on the nose as usual.

Did you hear the desperation in Legard's voice as he said 'Ted, any other news?'

He might as well have sighed and said 'Jesus, erm, Ted, you take it from here mate, I'm off to find a titty bar'

What actually caused Hamilton to retire? I recall seeing him run wide and get passed but wasn't aware of any major collisions.

Next time I saw him he was stopped at the side and tossing his steering wheel onto the track like a spoilt child.

He tripped over Webber whilst turning in on him and broke a rear wheel.

Webber was fine but Hamilton had to pull over.

Did you see Webber fron tyre after the race! No wonder he got a blister on his had from the vibrating wheel.

                My favourites were:

'No Felipe, Fernando really is faster than you this time'

                and

Mrs Sniff Petrol has just returned from a lengthy nap with the words "I cannot believe this race is still going on". Well, quite.

Pedrosa crashed in first practice and borked his collarbone. Unless Lorenzo goes tits up he's certain to be champion this year.

Yep, when they both touched into that corner I was on the edge of my seat. Brilliant.

Don't usually like Moto GP too much but, yeah, those last few laps were incredible. Proper heart in the mouth action.
