McLaren what a nightmare start, wonder if Alonso has a "get-out clause" in his contract

Gonna be Button or Schumi on pole, Rubens seems long way off the pace, surprised so many drivers leaving it so late to come out and do a lap !?! risky business.

just got home from work, wtf is going on.

Looks like Kimi's car made this quite interesting.

That's completely f-ed!! It looked like suspension failure as he came into the corner..it's interesting to see on the reply how it goes just before he goes into a spin. Thankfully he's ok though, could have easily tipped...but no sweat on the iceman!

Ron Dennis didn't look too pleased!!

Jim gave up his day job....i miss him

So far I am so impresed with this new qualifying, my only complaint is the onscreen graphics. I think they could have the current top ten on the screen at the same time rather than just the first and tenth drivers. Shame about DC, at least he can go away now re-fuel his car and get ready to scythe his way through the field tomorrow. I reckon if his car is reliable enough he can get to the end, he is quite good at avoided trouble.

This new qualifying system has everyone on the edge of their seats...

DC is good at avoiding trouble, so i'm sure he'll be able to pull it back depending on how much fuel Red Bull decide to give him.

But watch out tomorrow...because Kimi is going to kick some ass

Was enjoying it until this stupid fuel credit system... talk about over-complications!

Until one of the new boys take him out on the first corner

A bit of a thumbs down from me. I thought qualy was interesting up until the final shootout but after that it just became confusing. And why was Barrichello so far off the pace? I assume that the teams are running diffrent fuel levels, so Alonso could spring a surprise tomorrow.

I reckon the shooutout should be similar to last year's system as the final 20 mins just seemed like a mini race to me with the teams just burning off fuel.

I really enjoyed the new qualifying system, it certainly has more tension and the drama than the farcical qualifying 'entertainment' of the last few years. Still not as good as the old one hour 12 laps when-you-like session though.

It was good to see Schumacher back on pole, his final (probably) season should now allow him at least to go out in a fitting manner and not struggling in fourth or fifth in races. And Senna's record was FINALLY equalled, although it took Schumacher far more races to match it. I am slightly sad to see it happen though, as it has always been somewhat fitting that the great Brazilian remained top of the qualifying pack in the F1 records.

Looking forward immensely to the season now, I mean even more than I already was

Indeed sad. You would've hoped that Ayrton's family could've had at least one record to treasure but that will probably go now. Fair play to MS though, he's been around long enough do it, it's just taken him 12 years which says a lot about the great man,Ayrton that is.

Ayrton was the greatest driver to have ever graced the sport of F1. In my opinion not even MS can take that title away from him.
