read in the paper that richard hammond? i think it is from topgear could be part of the new BBC lineup for f1.

but papers 100% of the time like to bull-crap specially on the coulthard/massa thing.

It'd be funny if you had the 3 guys from topgear commentate a Grand prix

As for the intro music, hope they don't use some corny guitar track like they do on them sony adverts for f1 at the moment.... get some electronic music pumping... another good reason it's a bore is the choice of music they sometimes use for the promotion clips etc.

Great day for the boys in Red if they can stay out of trouble should be a Ferrari one-two tomorrow

Decent qualifying session, should be an interesting race if it rains tomorrow: the first corner will be mayhem.

Why do we spoiler tag stuff? Surely anyone coming into this thread knows we will be discussing what has happened?

Hope they use the music they used to use personally.

Both Mclarens have been penalised 5 places.

Typical FIA bull; both Mclaren drivers sent back five places on the grid for blocking, despite the fact that there were a number of cars crawling back to the pits when Heidfeld and Alonso were on their hot laps.

Kovalainen I can perhaps see, as he did appear to slightly balk Alonso, but I didn't see anything that Lewis did wrong.

The two Mclarens were on the racing line. The other two cars were off the racing line. I think it was Hamilton that moved over off the racing line after Heidfeld past and Heiki stayed and impeded Alonso.

Don't see much wrong with the FIA's decision.

Yes, it was only the McLarens that were on the racing line, Kubica's BMW was in a position where he wasn't obstructing them.

Fair decision in my opinion. It's a safety aspect more than anything else.

Agreed, if you sit on the racing line, even for a short time, you are very likely to slow a following car on a hot lap.

There is zero defence for doing it on a cool down lap, but the stewards do need to be consistent with these things, and they aren't always.

Looks like they'll have to sort out a system for this new qualifying, it almost looked like Heidfeld was navigating through parked cars.

I always avoid this thread if I haven't been able to see an event Live. Perhaps the title could be changed to include the word Spoilers?

Interesting qualifying. I thought Toyota did well and Trulli has certainly shown that there is some speed in the car. Be good to see both McLaren's attacking from further back in the race tomorrow. Any bets on how many cars will finish this time?

I think people are using spoiler tags for these races because a lot of people will be watching the afternoon repeats rather than the early morning live broadcasts.

I think moving to the Beeb will be a good thing, when they cut to ads with 3 laps left like in 2k5 , alonso locked onto the bumper in a thrilling battle (cant remember who it was with, im sure someone can correct me) and totally killed the tension. I just had to stop watching.
Perhaps they will stop riding Lewis Hamilton's nuts all the time as well, it gets pretty boring.
One thing that I really cannot stand tho is Bernie Eccleston, he is for want of a better word an absolute prick, and personally I think the sport will move on leaps and bounds when he withers away. Oh and I quite like the idea of fastest drivers starting at the back, not sure if its been discussed here, but alot of the pistonheads f1 faithful seemed to like the idea as well if properly implemented.

I don't think it matters what channel or sport it is, if there's a successful British competitor then they'll get all the attention.
