Brilliant race. I was really impressed by the overtaking between Pedrosa and Stoner initially, and then between Stoner and Rossi. Some hard but firm manoeuvres, one that comes to mind is when Rossi came in too hot on Stoner and went wide in the apex, Stoner then closing the door on Rossi on the exit. Excellent stuff.

Lorenzo really did an amazing job, even though he was slightly hamming it a bit at the end with the chair and everything. Potential world champion in his debut season?

Rossi's victory lap for his 90th win was also fitting as well, with a legend riding him back into the padock.

By the way, who else here has a soft spot for Suzi Perry

Are you sure it's a soft spot?

excellent race yesterday !! great to see Rossi back where he belongs and I have a lot of respect for Lorenzo, I think within 2 years max he will be world champion.
It was an amazing race from start to finish to watch, you could really see them going to the max with these bikes, incredible stuff !!

not bad ! I guess that some of the GP riders had a good ride on her as well, maybe she's even wilder than a + 200bhp GP bike !

Don't know how much truth there is in this as they don't state a source but:

Five Live commentator David Croft to lead the commentary team on BBC and Adrian Chiles to host the coverage. Seems like an end to Allen and Ryder (good on both counts), still no news on Brundle though yet.

                Monaco this w/e, love it.

They would be crazy not to take Martin Brundle over.

I meant Brundle when I typed Allen, will change that now. They better get him over to BBC.

Really don't like Adrian Chiles. Wouldn't be pleased if he has a major role in their coverage.

Should be a cracking race, assuming no mishaps has a Kimi victory stamped all over it, though sure the usual contenders will play a part, maybe even Alonso.

I'm not sure Kimi will walk away with this one, maybe Hamilton will be a lot closer, or even Kovi.

I quite like Chiles actually. Whatever happens I'll be happiest if they decide to move away from the pit lane for the talk before the race, most of the time all you can hear is the engine warming routines:
                        Vrooooom
                        position
                        Vrooooooooooooooom
                        Championship
                        Vrooooom
                        crash
                        Vrooooooooooooooom
                        points
                        VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
                        inaudble
                        VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
inaudible and smug grin from Blundell
                        Vrooom
                        etc.

I'm not that bothered about Adrian Chiles, but I really don't think the likes of him or the Top Gear crew would be suited to presenting the F1. The team BBC use for their MotoGP coverage is pretty good, I'd rather see something along those lines instead of trying to get BBC 'celebrities' in for it.

I read somewhere that there is rain forecast for the Monaco Grand Prix, obviously we'll have to wait and see if that actually happens but could potentially make for an even more interesting race. Is anyone else following the GP2? Judging by the previous races, I'll be amazed if any of them finish at Monaco!

Chiles seems to be the BBC's 'in-guy' at the moment; he is getting gigs all over the shop. I still remember him from his Five Live days. He was a lot less annoying when you didn't have to see smug face every time he had something to say.

David Croft and Martin Brundle would be a good commentary team. Anything is better than James Allen, who will hopefully never be heard on television ever again should they not take him across.

Looking forward to Monaco, doubly so if it rains. The first wet race conditions since they took traction control away would be interesting to see anywhere, but especially so at Monaco. As long as we'd don't get Coulthard or someone trying to make them run the whole thing behind the safety car.

I love the Monaco grand prix. The street courses are always the best in any motorsport; which makes me even more happy to know there's another street race happening this year. Although I can't remember what the circuit's called.

Valencia and Singapore are both street circuits.
