The FIA have done the maths regarding the medals system.

One highlight is that if the system was in place during Bernie's team (Brabham) years, it would never have won a championship.LOL

Our Nige would be a two time champ. Senna would have made it four in a row from '88 to '91 and Schumi's tally would remain unchanged....

The thing is, it's pointless to retrofit it like that. The idea is that it's meant to make drivers go all out for the win, so wouldn't people have driven differently in previous years had the medal system been in place?

But of course it used to be a three or four point difference between a win and a second place, so winning was more important, I suppose. And who can forget that the driver with the best 11 results of the year (up to '90) became champ. Prost outscored Senna in '88 but fell foul of that one.

God, how chronic is the WRC this year? The different manufacturers were always a big part of the interest. Just two main teams is boring!

And why is the coverage on tv ALWAYS exactly the same year in, year out, regardless of what channel it's on. I like how on this rally Ireland coverage Dave have totally glossed over Subaru and Suzuki disappearing.

Good on that McShea fella for getting his s2000 car to third on the first stage.

Don't think I'll be watching much rally coverage this year.

Bloody hell I hope not, but you're probably right. They did it to the snooker music and to the top gear theme.

I see that Bourdais has been confirmed as the 2nd seat at Toro Rosso now. Alongside Buemi (they seem only able to sign people called Sebastie(a)n by the way!).

That leaves no seat for Button next year. With no solid news of what's happening to Honda it's all looking pretty bleak for Jenson

mmm, Bordais lass. Hopefully in his second/third year he'll fully adjust to F1.

With the most wins system you'd see a lot of suicide dives on the last lap if the race is close. Then they'd take each other out, and the third place driver would take it. Waaaaay too much controversy to deal with for them to really go through with it. Though, I'd love to see it, if only for one season.

Yeah I'm glad he's been resigned, hopefully he'll shine a bit more this year.

A nice vid from RB about the new '09 car.

And here it is, the new Red Bull:

Nose seems a bit different from everyone elses. Very high and thin.

Red Bull has consistently been my favourite looking car of the last few seasons and they've delivered another looker here I think.

No accounting for taste, that paddock shot looks absolutely grotesque! It's all because of the nose, yuck

Thanks for the decent-sized pics, Alastair. Was hoping someone in here would post some up as I'd only seen the crappy tiny ones on PF1.

The high, thin nose looks pretty similar to the Toyota one IIRC.
