I think the evo X looks ok. You need to see more angle than that to make your mind up properly.

i don't think it's concept any more either. Pretty sure the design has been signed off.

re Schumi, I'd like to see him contending races next year too as the more people that do the better the season will be. Not fussed about him winning another championship though, he's had enough and we al know he's the best of his generation. The new generation are here now though

It will be a sad day when he retires. Sure, he can be annoyingly good and has taken most of the records for himself but he is F1 and also offers a link to the past which the young guns cannot do. They were still in primary school when Schumi was battling with Ayrton, Alain and our Nige. Ahh, the good old days.

Try these for more opinions of the Evo X:

I'm happy for Schu to be around still too, it's the dominance I don't like. Ideally I'd like at least 4 or 5 drivers all capable of winning any given race battling it out every race day. I fear the aero rules will have to be changed before that happens though.

Totally. Check out some of the vids online. Those cars look like trucks compared with today's narrow, dainty little beasts. Just today I watched a Honda demo of the '91 Macca MP4/6 and the sound of that V12, OMG, it brought tears to my eyes.

It looks positively Alfa like in that first shot. I still don't like it though.

Looks like a boxy saloon with too many spoilers and flanges bolted on. Just like every other Evo, then.

Actually, being more serious, does anyone else think it looks rather like one of those ugly MGs based on the Rover 45 that came out shortly before they died?

                      does actually.

Speaking of new cars, saw a Proton Gen2, in Tesco's car park of all places yesterday, had tasteful spoiler, been lowered a bit, alloys and the like and looked great from behind. Pics on offiical site don't show it in it's best light.

                        Tiny wheels, big fat car

Am I missing something with that car? Is it supposed to be special or just another focus/astra/golf type?

                        Comment

in standard trim yeah I suppose it is a Focus etc clone, but a bit of TLC and some cash and it was neatly transformed, sure one I sure was only a three door also.

Qualifying Results (on late this evening on ITV for us in the UK)

Ralf on Pole, Button second, Shumi, Alonso right near the back and the two McLaren's virtually last, going to be very interesting

What a race, best I've seen in years. Shame Button couldn't keep pace but great to see the top drivers coming through the field.

Kimi def deserved the win as Fisi couldn't keep it together yet again.

Just realised the re-run is still on the box. Sorry if I spoiled it for anyone
