I was surprised by Honda... Expected more.

Kimi had an amazing drive yet again, don't mind schumacher being good as long as he has competition.

As for qualifying, I don't get how anyone can say the last sesh is confusing. All they had to say was, you start the race with the fuel you start the 3rd session with. Thats it. So they have to burn a load to have a fast car. So the first 10-15 ins is doing just that. IMO they should cut it down to 10 minutes - there wouldnt be a difference in qualifying at all.

But a superb start to the season, looking to be amazing.

Does anyone believe JB is a contender for the title?

        Did. Until today.

Honda seem to be 4th this year. Of course, that could all change but can't see it happening soon enough.

I personally think that even though JB has shown his abilities, he is not a contender for the title. Honda seem to have got the power behind him, but i don't think he'll be able to take full advantage of that.

It's between those 3 brilliant drivers that were on the podium today!

Think your right, with Button fourth, Rosberg was great today, without the pit stop on lap one he could have been much higher up the field.

Good race all round, just wish Alonso had come out of the pits 0.2 seconds slower then he would have just seen the back of the Ferrari

Great start to what should be a great season.

There is a simple solution to the session three farce. Just make the teams declare their final fuel levels to the FIA, and they can then go out on vapour and we can have a real scrap for P1 not the current 'run slow to burn fuel and save my engine' BS.

In regards to Kimi, I have read alot of nonsense on the web about how, had he been at the sharpend of the grid, he would've won and annihilated MS and FA. Utter tripe IMO. He was at the back in a fast car fueled up to the hilt and his supreme ability enabled him to put in long runs at a consistent pace. He is a top tier driver up there with the other two so of course he was going to do well and blast past the midfield and second tier runners with ease.

I rate him highly and he is certainly better than burgerboy JPM, as he proved once again, but I don't think that he would've easily beaten FA or MS. It's one thing to get into position but another to pass two world champs in equal or superior cars.It would've been a great scrap if he had been at the front though.

                  Roll on Malaysia!

But the entire POINT of fueling in the 3rd session is so it is unknown how much a driver starts with.

If they run on vapour, everyone will essentially either be one stopping or two stopping, like they used to in the 12 lap system.

Thered be no great unknowns, like people thinking Ferrari were light yesterday and then surprising everyone when they weren't.

They could just make it 10 minutes instead of 20. Job done. Although, I wouldn't mind it staying exactly the same. Gives the commentators time to do some analysis, which is entertaining by itself.

I'm in the leave qualifying as it is camp as well. It was pretty frantic in the first 2 sessions so a 10 min breather before another frantic 10 mins was fine. Gave a chance to see the cars going round at least rather than sitting in the garage like we used to see.

Great race too. Ferrari are most definitely back if they can keep that form up. Will be good to see the 3 podium guys scrapping it out more often too. Looking forward to this w/e already.

Malaysia is back to back with Bahrain? Excellent!

                              Yup, same here.

It's good to see a handful of title contenders rather than Schumacher/Alonso running rings around people. A good start to what I hope is a thrilling season.

I think a season like this has been long overdue. Now MS is back...he's fighting against 2 brilliant drivers who aren't going to be a push over. It has the makings to be the best season we've seen for a very long time.
