I was more thinking about his legs, look at his feet there, if the bulkhead hadn't been as strong as it was he'd have been fooked for sure.

It's accidents like that that make all the positive movements for safety so worthwhile, that picture shows that both the HANS and the headreast thingies at the side of the cockpit both did their job.

10 years ago the cars went that fast, 10 years ago he'd probably have been dead, well done FIA.

In other news, I'm seriously convinced that Hamilton is the real deal now. Champion this year is def on the cards now, unbelievable!

Having dropped out of F1 a few years back I decided to actually sit down and see what all the fuss was regarding Hamilton. I'm glad I did cos this was one of the most entertaining races I've seen!

The crash in question was both stunning and sickening at the same time, had the guy not survived I doubt we'd be talking about it in such terms, but it really was an awesome moment. It really gives you an indication of how fast these cars are going - it's something you often take for granted. The amount of energy released when he crashed was scary, quite frankly. But as others have said, it really show how well these cars are designed. The bodywork did its job - it absorbed all the energy and ultimately saved his life.

I bet Indy 500 is boring after all this!

what a great day yesterday for the F1 and MotoGP !!

first we had an absolutely stunning motoGP race (Stoner and Rossi where absolutely amazing)
and then we had one of the best F1 races since a long time, except for the crash of Kubica (glad he's ok) the race was fantastic.
Excellent performance from Hamilton and man of the match for me was Sato !!

Kubica's out of hospital already, and was well enough to drive himself back to his hotel (or wherever)

Hope we get to see him back in action this coming weekend.

That looks great Nave, what a cool place to sit.

Have heard that the British GP tickets are selling out fast now, wonder why that is?!

Thought Alonso was sulking a bit too much post race and not giving Hamilton enough credit considering he's a team mate, now I've just read this...

Acting like a spoilt child...pressure is obviously getting to him!

Alonso tends to say what he thinks which is a bad idea as the British press are positively frothing at the mouth at the thought of tension in the Mclaren camp.

He was right in the sense that LH was lucky that the SC didn't come out a lap earlier, but by saying it, it makes him look like a sore loser. The anti Alonso brigade have not forgiven him for beating both KR and MS so any chance to knock him down a peg is welcome.

Appreciate he's calling it how he sees it but it just exposes him as being a bit of a whinger. wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't his new team mate.

Problem being there are many egos in the paddock and none of them like losing out, particularly the reigning world champion.

Any way, adds an extra element to the racing.

Don't suppose Ron Dennis was too impressed with the outburst either, but as Alonso doesn't consider Hamilton a contender for "his title" he's got nothing to worry about

He shouldn't do it as it just adds fuel to the flames. It's his obvious flaw to be honest. Virtually(forgetting Sunday for a mo) flawless on track but prone to foot in mouth off.

i was pleased to hear my nan taped the grand prix, so i have it for memory sake

it was one grand prix id like to have in my vhs collection

schumacher in ferrari next year? that'd be a long-shot. who knows. Raikkonen needs to pull something out of the bag. I'm no fan of raikkonen so id like to see M schumacher back. but again, theres no way it will happen.

It has to be said that if Schu was in that Ferrari, he would be fighting for the lead of the WDC.

IMO, this year has exposed the myth that is Kimi Raikkonen.

I'm still certain KR is a good driver. I'm just undecided if he's unlucky though or just a car breaking inconsistency!

Same times for Indy as Montreal I think.
