The last wet race was the Chinese GP.

FA has been saying that his WDC charge begins now. He has the experience and the skill so now it's up to Mclaren to give both of their drivers and equal crack at the title. FA has had some bad races but you would expect that LH will also have his share of not so good days so it could turn around very quickly as we saw last year. The main difference though is the fact that there is no car advantage between them so they will have to fight tooth and nail for position.

Just hope the title doesn't come down to car reliability, how much must Kimi be wishing he'd stayed at McLaren eh, they came on so much over the winter.

That's a big question, equally as big is; would he still be breaking it like he did last year and has to some extent to the Ferrari though?

I don't think Kimi is all he's hyped up to be, he's got the raw talent for sure but it doesn't seem he 'really' wants it or maybe doesn't have the right mentality for it. At the moment the only way I see him winiing a drivers title is to be the undisputed top dog in the undisputed top car.

At least with the Lewis Vs Nando scenario where it's clear a Macca will win we can't quite tell which one it'll be.

Mentally FA is really going to have to toughen up though, as with the revised points system and the dominence / reliability of the Mclaren, he really has a mountain to climb already. Think I'm right in saying that if they continue to have 1/2's and he wins all of them it will be 6 races before he can take the lead in the WDC only giving a buffer in there of 4 races. If FA's desperation continues to grow at the same rate as LH confidence then the boy wonder may just pull off a miracle.

Of course one DNF for LH and that all changes, but reliability seems such at the moment that that can't be relied on as much as earlier years. Driver error is far more likely now to cause a DNF it would seem, and going by the last 7 races FA is more likely to suffer from that !

1.3-1.5 litre 4 cylinder engines in F1 cars, jesus. If any of that goes ahead it'll be massive changes in F1, the engines would either need to rev to about 30k rpm or be super turbo'd so high they'd pop every secong lap!

What? it's hardly going to be F1 then is it? more like F2. I thought the big thing about F1 was the speed.

I'm sure they will still wring the top speeds out. F1 is touted as pushing the boundaries of car dev so this makes some sense.

Rather than big powerful beasts these cars have trimmed down over the years and become more and more engineered and these changes IMHO seem to suggest that is the way they will continue to go. Sure it'll still be as exciting unless they decide to take the drivers out as well, thats when I'll complain

                  Still, he'd be over-payed, over-rated. Also a slacker.

Sutil looks very gay in that picture, so does Lewis actually. I never knew what Stuil looked like, he's never on TV!

To be fair to Coulthard he did pretty well when he was at McLaren. Around that time he had to contend with Hakkinen and Schumacher, along with the boys at Williams (I think it was Montoya and Ralf Schumacher at that time). Taking all that into consideration he did a pretty good job during that period. Although saying that he might be showing signs of envy, seeing that a "rookie" has come in and had all this success immediately.

Ferrari on top after practice sessions, by quite a bit in F1 terms but will have to wait for the proper stuff (qualifying) tomorrow before I do a little jig

You bloody fan boy, you're nearly as bad as Richard and his Alonso loving

The fact that speed was 3rd fastest in the afternoon shows it means nothing. Ferrari were probably trying to get the fastest possible time or testing quali trim whilst McL were testing long run performance.

Come tomorrow afternoon the silver cars will be back on top, mark my words!

I can edit this post after quali right?

This looks interesting, National Geographic channel at 8pm tonight.

If you want to see it Al, drop us a PM and I'll record it on DVD

EDIT: doh I don't have National Geographic channel in our package, just assumed it was free.
