The way I've read that is that it 'will' happen at the end of next season so expect Alonso in a Ferrari in 2009. Can't see that working though as he'd want preferential treatment over Kimi and that surely would never happen even though Ferrari are historically a very top driver focused team.

be interesting whatever happens, that's for sure be great to see Button at McLaren though.

Whose in the running to take his seat at McLaren then? Button maybe? Would be cool.
Button's already said that although he's flattered people would even think he'd have the chance to go to McLaren next year, he's staying with Honda.

Would have to think Renault would be the most likely place for Alonso, they seem keen to get him back.

JB's problem is that he is British which counts against him in terms of marketing. I actually reckon he could spank LH if he put his mind to it.

On the subject of Nando, well he would look very good in red but it can't happen unless they pay off Massa for '09.

Wonder how Kimi would feel have Alonso in the team though, for all we know Massa could be champion next year and that would throw a right spanner in the works.

Seeing Alonso in a "lesser" team/car for 12 months would be a good test for him, might make him grow up a bit.

I’ve got it all solved for 2008

                - Kimi will be out on the p*ss still celebrating and partying every weekend.

                - Alonso will be so fuming qualifying midfield each race weekend he’ll be crashing left right and centre.

                - And Hamilton will be so knacked with all his Sponsorship appearances he won’t have the energy to drive.

Which will leave the door wide open for Massa.

                Obvious really

Maybe Heidfeld wasn't talking balls then when he said that BMW will fight for a title next season if it all works out like that!

Richard.John's gonna be pissed if Nando ends up in a midfiled car next year. I however would love it, time to prove he really is 'all that'.

Actually I am warming to the idea of Red Bull. He could take a one year deal with an option for two and keep his eye on Massa for '09. Montezemelo has said very nice things about FA which suggests he is in the frame at some point. If FM screws up next year, maybe a slot will open up.

Alastair, he really is all that. You know it's true.

EDIT: Autosport are suggesting that he is free to sign for any team next year. So Mr Theissen, if you really want to win a race next year, you know what you have to do

Just seen this and it makes sense to me. Kovi to McL as is kinda predicted. Webber to fill the Kovi hole at Renault as he's managed by Flav. Nando to RBR as has also been suggested (but now removed by BBC).

Or, when the music stops, grab a car!

The thing with that is that surely if Flavio is party to it then he'd want Alonso at Renault rather than doing a musical chairs jobby to get Webber in a Renault.

And I can't stop at Richard.John's suggestion that Button could spank Hamilton.

Flav doesn't manage Nando though, may not have enough cash to afford his wages and Nando might not even want to go to the team after this years dip in form.

Only time will tell. I want a GP this Sunday

Flav/Renault said weeks back that they couldn't affored Alonso's £10million a year demands, so something will have to give if he is to return there.
