    11 miles yesterday and a half marathon this morning before breakfast

    The hills were immense! Luckily it was drizzling just enough to keep me cool.
    Heart rate was 159 average today, which considering the pace and the hills was nice and low.

    However, annonying blister on the side of the ball of my foot I'll have to take tomorrow off. Compeed is go.

      Got a marathon row coming up soon, which I'm dreading because it's straight out to sea in potentially awful conditions. Hurumph.

      This morning before breakfast I walked about 300 meters to the shops to get milk.

        Got a new PB of 23:29 at this morning's Parkrun, 11 seconds faster than a few weeks ago.

        Ran with the HRM again and managed to push my max heart rate to 203bpm! Run felt tough but certainly not a struggle and managed to come back home in position 68 out of 210!

        Got a slow and steady 10k tomorrow and I've started doing some light strength training too.

              Yeah....

              Did any of the course go under electricty pylons? They tend to send the HRM crazy high.

                Nope, not a single pylon. However, I am fairly small overall (5ft 7) so I don't know if that has any impact on my potential max heart rate?

                  Everyone is different Taka, my max is over 200 and I'm 31. It generally works out as 220 minus age but that's just a guide.

                    Muscle in my right thigh went "ping". Didn't hurt, but I felt it go. It now hurts in some weird ways.
                    2 weeks off for me.

                      Still hurting but because life's too short, I've grabbed two tickets for next weekend's south downs epic (44mile off road mtb sportive). Me, Lucy and a friend are going to get round. I'll just take it easy.

                        Ran 7 miles of extreme hills yesterday in the mid Wales valleys. I usually run with music but decided to just let nature be my soundtrack for the run and after all the boring city road and park runs, it was a nice change of scenery and variety.

                        Tried out a free sample of something called Nectar Fuel which you mix with water to make an energy drink, packed with 500 or so calories in just 500ml of fluid!

                          Signed up to do a 28 mile coastal row, taking place on the 7th July.

                          I'll let you know when I work out why I agreed to it.

                              20k row this morning in reasonable conditions. Took just over 2 hours so a nice pace. Felt ok other than my hands, which are blistered as hell now.

                              In two weeks I have to race double that!

                                So. That ride THROUGH HELL took 7 hours 15 mins. 5675 calories. You know its bad when you have to pedal DOWN the hills just to keep going through the mud. Totally mental. One of the most hardcore things I've ever done!
