plus you'll go through sprockets and head bearings like theres no tomorrow but it'll be fun..

ARISE FROM THE DEPTHS OLD THREAD

Sorry to dig this up, but having just had a blinding weekend watching the Doctor finally win another Moto GP, and making the most of the end of summer sunshine for a few rides, seems like a good time to see if anyone on here is still riding? And if so, what?

I'm now the proud owner of an '06 Speed Triple 1050, which is making my day every time I ride. Also improved as a rider enormously since getting her a few months back.

Still rockin' my Vespa. That bike is lovely. I adore those back wheels that, from one side, don't even look like they're attached.

          Looks amazing!

Chucked mine down the road again, and wasn't having much fun apart from on the track, so put the money into mountain biking instead.
If anyone wants some 80s style leathers, waterproofs, gloves (winter/summer), boots (11-12), tank bag, let me know!

Every time I see a new green Ninja though, I get that feeling....

Nice bike, do like those. Mine (ZX-6R) needs sorting, it's misfiring on one of the cylinders so I haven't had it on the road for a while.

That triple looks so sweet. Loved to arrow lowboy on them. I'm still riding, both track and road. Daytona 675

Great to see theres still some fellow riders on here. And Charles, really sorry to hear you moved on to pastures new. Perhaps when they launch the new H2 you might be swayed

Interesting to see theres some track dayers on here too. I've never done one, but have been tempted to do a day or two at Donnington with the Ron Haslam school. Would love to rinse one of their bikes before risking my precious speedy. I'm slightly concerned about how addicted I may become to track days, and the costs involved however!

Have you got another bike Marty? Or just driving in the meantime?

Track days are epic. I haven't do e the Hallam school but a few folk I know have and the comments are always positive. But they do say that it isn't really a lot of track time when balanced with the cost but the training is good.
I just went for it really booked my first and haven't looked back. They are addictive though. If its near enough oulton do track tasters ?20 gets you a session (20 minutes) and that should be enough to know if you want more. With that triple I bet you would.... I had the triple before a daytona, too much fun not to use it all.

I did the Haslam school years ago - it was 2 riders per instructor and I thought it was ok value, considering you are using someone elses machine.

Great to hear about the Haslam school being a decent option. Might look into that next month, although October onwards we start dealing with potentially crap weather, making booking in advance a bit of a gamble....

Anyone had a nice Sunday morning blat out on the bikes today? Just got back from a cracking 100 miler from Bristol through the Cotswolds to Gloucester and back on some twisties. The speedy gobbles up days like today, although does start to get slightly uncomfortable after 4 or 5 hours!

It started raining in one of my Haslam sessions. Everyone except me suddenly slowed down. At the time I was riding every day in the rain etc. so was fine with it. Someone came off even though he had slowed down.... how?

I think as a relative newbie to riding, I am probably the same in the rain. I tense up and immediately start not trusting the grip in the corners. In a way, I think a track day in the rain would be the best cure for that, just to push it and see how far you really can go in the wet.

Christ, when you see Kiyo, Shakey and co. smashing their way around Cadwell park in the wet, it puts it into perspective!

I've been around Cadwell park - I wouldn't go that fast in the dry They do have specialised wet tyres and more talent mind.
