Feeling of anticipation growing now, two games this weekend with the Bank Holiday, against teams who ended up just below us last season. Two wins would set us up nicely, but availability is always tricky at the start of the season with football and rugby continuing.

Anyone started yet or also beginning tomorrow?

So how's the new season going?

My club, Penzance, has had a few departures and several people unavailable for a while, so I had two games for the Seconds in Cornwall Division 3 West - the highest level I've played. We lost both games. but put up a good fight.

The Seconds won without me when I was on holiday. Then I had a game for a strong 3rd team and we won.

On Saturday, weather permitting, I'll be playing for the Seconds against St Ives, who've won all four games so far this season. Eek.

Batting I've had 0 not out and a duck; bowling 12/29/1, 9/18/1 and 12/16/2.

I think this is only the third day so it ends on Tuesday.

Didn't play on Saturday but went to watch our 1sts get beaten by a very good side called Poachers, who are a two year old club in their infancy working their way through the leagues, with the help of two or three very classy South Africans. We made 153 which was about 30 too few, they knocked them off with eight overs to spare. Nice lads, though, save for the ultra competitive SA contingent (local league cricketers on here will know what I mean).

Test & One Day series against Pakistan starts this Thursday, should be good and tide me over until football starts again, Coral have both countries down with the same odds for winning so both series have got be close. Come on England.

Just got back from the Oval. Was all a bit of a farce in the end - they didn't let us know what was going on so we were relying on text updates from people watching it on TV. Crowd wasn't massively happy.
