Out to a wonder catch now.

Listening to TMS, it seems that England are batting like 'tards, with some really loose shots.

Harmison will no doubt bomb, and his absence (and that of Onions) will deny Durham of their two best bowlers and skank their CC aspirations. If this happens I will cry like a baby.

Bopara *sigh* never looked comfortable either. Out for 3.

I've turned off for a while. Bringing them bad luck!

Bopper is frigging hopeless. Taxi for Ravi!

With a piss weak batting line up you need people to settle in and concentrate from the get-go. Tosser.

lol at Boycott calling the teams playing football before a cricket game stupid idiots.

I was just about to post something about Bopara needing to step his game up in this series, and then he goes and get himself out cheaply again. I am all for sticking by players but he has to go. Why not give Trott or Rob Key a go? Bopara is clearly a talented, proper cricketer, but psychologically I think the Aussies have him, and he needs to step down.

I'd give the lad Trott a go.

My line up would have been:

              Cock
              Strauss
              Trott
              Bellend
              Colly
              Prior
              Broad
              Swann
              Anderson
              Harmison
              Onions

Broad's maybe useful enough with the bat to warrant the fourth seamer slot, otherwise tthey should have went with an extra batsmen, maybe Key or Denly.

                Cock

Why is Bopara in the team still though? I've not seen as much of the Ashes as I'd like to have, but what i have seen, Broad has been a better f*cking batsman than him!

Oh and I stand by the text I sent Seany, we'll be out by close of play comfortably.

Not an inspiring start to the day but then, our 'lesser' batters have been making up for some of the easy/quick wickets we've been suffering from.

Bopper looks a worse number three than Bellend did back in 2005. Both similar circumstances, making hundreds against crap opposition before the Ashes, then bombing when it matters. Although Bopper seems to be going down faster than a dirty ho.

Also, Henry Blojob just said on TMS that Headingley isn't the type of wicket where you can hit the ground with aggressive bouncers, you need craft, guile and swing.

Good job we picked Harmy then

Kinda wishing I'd put a bet on this...

Huh, Bellend out to a bouncer. What does Blojob know?

If Colly is out cheaply, we're finished.

Oh dear oh dear. My initial thought was "We'll be out before the 3rd session"...but I'm ont sure we'll finish the first!

Wasn't there a test at Headingly a few years back where both teams batted twice on the same day? i think it was against the Windies.

Dire, rubbish, toss! Collingwood you utter chump, this situation is supposed to be your forte. Epic fail. Once again Colly starts an Ashes series well then tails off later on. I'm a big fan of his, but some of his shots recently have been inexcusable.

Clark is a very tidy bowler. He's one of those guys who bowls tightly and gets wickets through the odd bit of swing and nipping it off the seam. He looks unspectacular, but causes batsmen all kinds of problems, and builds presure. He seems to have great figures and bowls a lot of maidens.

All of which makes me think that if Mark Davies could get and stay fit, he would be a great bowler for England, much better than Harmison. The lad has tremendous figures at CC level and builds pressure with his accuracy.
