Ish - I looked through every single photograph that you have put up on your Flickr profile and I must say, I am very impressed.

You can see - slowly but surely - your overall techiques improve and your imagination on some of the (newer) photos are brilliant. You should be proud of yourself.

This is my favourite thread for sure, even if I don't contribute!

So what do you think so far? Has the red ring seduced you yet?

It has yes. Around 4 months after buying the Tamron I made a comment on Flickr that I'd realised that cheap lenses weren't worth the money and I was saving for a 70-200 L.

Now, I didn't realise that the quality difference would be so huge. I doubt that I'll be getting any lenses soon but when I do get another it will be L.

It's damn big for a 200 though and also weighs lots, must be all that expensive glass inside it.

Hopefully my photography will go up a notch to reflect the investment. I'm sure the keeper rate will go up at least. Need to hunt out a cheap 1.4 TC now though, ebay looks doubtful at the mo.

That's great and I am glad to hear it. So many buyers seem to raise expectations to levels that the lens cannot realistically match but the 70-200s are clearly Canon's finest zooms and possibly the best on the market today.

It is heavy but have you ever handled the 2.8? That thing is a brick. Anyway, enjoy your new toy and I (and I am sure we) look forward to seeing the results.
