Proof that the car shots I do aren't always easy. Only got 1 go at this as the damn thing broke down after this and didn't run again, neither did either of the other 2 there.
      Stupid choice of colour too

The static one they pushed about for shots.

And all the pros climbing all over it:

Is the vignetting in the second shot added after? I'm assuming so. I think you did another shot with PP vignetting before which i liked but it feels too strong here...my eyes keep getting drawn to it.

hmmm, you edited your post as I was submitting mine.

It is added, of course, maybe too strong but I felt there was no framing in the shot and it needed a little something. May try a different version. May not.

Yes, I think that the large DOF doesn't help as the subject isn't isolated and its also very central in the image (which makes it a little lifeless).

You may want to try adding a frame to it. I know most people don't bother but it can do a lot for an image. There are some incredible examples to be found on flickr.

Gareth, it's just a snap shot tbh, was never really for artistic merit, I just added the vignette to spice it up a little. As the day was such a joke it was as good a chance to get a shot as there was, I wasn't invited in to the press launch and that's as close as I could sneak.

Maybe I should have added a feathered gaussian blur instead of the vignette as that's the only way I can think of getting any sort of decent DOF when shooting at 180mm from about 40 feet away!!

Alastair, hope it didn't come across as over-criticising, certainly was meant that way.

A field I passed yesterday, I was gutted earlier in the day I passed on totally red then this morning I passed a pheasant in car and it just stood there about 3 foot away from me looking all golden and sparkling oh well teach me to take the camera everywhere

I know this is a rubbish pic but think this is the final proof that I need a zoom lense, went out the other day and saw these birds tearing into the reeds by the back door, took a snap and even from about 20ft with a 60mm lens this was the best I could get which sucked as they were not afraid at that distance posted it to show how gutting it was being that close without a bigger lens

I know how you are feeling as I was in the same situation a few months back. It's frustrating when you want to get close but your lens or feet can't.
A 70-200 f/4 IS with 1.4 x extender solved that problem for me. Focal length is addictive though as soon you will want even more.

Cheers, and yeah get one - it's awesome. Nice lens as well, although I wish the aperture didn't change when zooming with said lens. I know you can get ones that don't do that, but I am very happy with my lot (besides, I don't got da mula required for what would be a rather expensive lens I'm guessing!)

I took literally 1 shot all w/e. Was shocking light (low light from behind the building through the cloud) and I didn't have my flash with me to fill in the wall so, this is what I managed to save from doing loads of PS work. I'm not super good at it so if you were to look at it large you'd see lots of rough areas!

Ish, I like the peeling paint and the rusty metal ones of yours.

Oh, some nice photographs in the last few pages - good work all. Ish, I echo Alastair's comment; the peeling paint photo is great.

Anyway, I'm in a bit of a hassle right now.

I went to take some photos last night - they came out nicely as I used my new tri-pod - but after playing around with them, I wanted to put them up on flickr but lo and behold, I can't sign in.

So, I checked my e-mails to find that somebody has apparently 'abused' my profile or something but it was just some guy on Threadless linking to my photos. This means that for some god forsaken reason, I can't sign in to my flickr account despite knowing my username and password.

When you go on the 'I have forgotten my account name / password' page, this screen ALWAYS comes up:

What the bleeding 'eff do I do now?

dunno about that ET. All your pics are still online though, I just checked.

Have you visited password help for further help and instructions like they suggest?
