It might be a distance thing. Seems the harsh stuff is much smaller and further away than the previous picture. I feel a test coming on!

GT, that harbor shot is lovely! The bokeh is slightly harsh, but I didn't really notice until Marty pointed it out. I'm sure you could sort it out with something in Photoshop. Maybe the lens blur filter?

Alaistar, I really like that second one. Makes him look really contemplative and delicate.

Marty, the black and white keys knives and something one. \o/ That's pretty.

A few digital 'cross processed pics' for fun...Taken with a 60 year old lens!

What the hell is that on the toilet? Looks wrong.

Can cross processing be done to digital files then? I always thought it was some sort of chemical thing, might have to read up on it.

Well, its digital cross processing i.e. buggering about with layers in photoshop to get the similar look to film tri-x cross processing.

Quite like playing around with the effect, its over the top here but its a look that i will try to refine for more future shots.

As for what the set-up is...when we were out in Thailand we visited a health resort. This was a sort of DIY body flushing system...don't make me describe it in any more detail!

That sounds a bit like the lomoeffect actions that were going around the place a while ago. I've got an actual LC-A (which is broken ) and it's not totally inaccurate, though there is an intangible feeling you get from a nice LC-A pic.

Did you tweak the pics yourself, or were they a set of actions applied? I just ask because it looks interesting and I'd like to have a go myself!

Magnakai, who are you on Flickr? I'm not sure I know!

                    This is me: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jodi

I've got almost 2 years worth of photos that aren't on there. I'm in a weird situation of not really having my own computer, I'm mostly using other people's, and I'm a bit reluctant to load my photos on there and start playing around.
They're mostly on my girlfriend's external hard drive at the moment, and she took that back to America.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that there's nothing very impressive on there. Most of the stuff in this thread dwarfs any of my output by a ridiculous degree.

Sweet mate, thanks for that, you were a contact but now you're a friend and can see the shots in the better bigness! Must suck not to have your own PC, I've only had one for the last year or so and couldn't imagine not having one now!

More from the BHHF art in the square.

Wish I'd focused on the artist (MNKY) rather than the art for that one.

I tweaked all the photos myself. There are some tutorials online that will help but I find that the image you start with varies so much that using an action doesn't work.

As for the LC-A...no such thing as a broken one surely...just in differing states of customisation! Actually, I picked up a Holgaroid last year which I managed to grab loads of now out of production film for which I was hoarding for those long summer days...which are now never going to come!

As for not having a PC...I have a somewhat old Sony Vaio that I was about to ebay (probably for peanuts) if you want it...got a decent 16" screen and was cutting edge...once upon a time.

I really like angled shots. I used to get shot down for it when I was at college by the puritans...what do they know! If it adds dynamism and interest then what's wrong with it?

A couple of arty (read 'black and white'! ) shots that I am quite liking:

                            Stan Laurel anyone?

I have my new lens, only had a quick play with it in the office but it seems nice and sharp.

Bit of chromatic aberration in the pic, but it was very bright out of the window behind my work colleague. I shall have a better go this w/e, but I think that was £80 well spent.

Great shots as ever guys. Couple of very abstract ones from me.
