And a couple more from me. Went for a walk round Old Warden today - it's a beautiful village in a lovely spot 15 minutes from where I live. Bedford being Bedford it's mostly flat but the sky was providing plenty of drama today:

I don't think I'm ever taking the wide angle lens off the camera! There's just no need

Ish, I can't find this lens anywhere. Best I've found is 'available June 2008'.

I think this is the dude I got mine from. He's got 2 for Nikon.

They're only actually out in Japan at the moment.

          Can't recommend it enough

Amazon (US) have opened up pre-orders for the lens I'm eagerly awaiting - Sigma 50mm f/1.4.

$499... Anyone want to join a sweepstakes as to what ridiculous conversion rate they use to work out the UK RRP?

Also, bloody 'eck, it takes 77mm filters!

The Tokina's a 77mm filter too. Bloody huge. And bloody expensive.

fuse - do you know how that squares up to the Nikkor 50mm f/1.4?

Right now I think it's all speculation from various parties. People are expecting it to be up there with the current Canon/Nikon 50mm f/1.4's though. The fact it's HSM is a bit plus point to me if nothing else.

mmmmm, depends if they use the adobe conversion rate, it could be £600!

btw, lovely stuff of late. I'll post some of recent stuff soon (tis only construction stuff though!)

Shame the sky is blown out (it was very bright and mid-afternoon) but I think it captures their character and that rescues it! (imho at least!)
Never even noticed the sky was blown out until you mentioned it :P, either they steal the show or the B&W conversion works well.
Like the second sky shot, the first is cool but not to my tastes.

Haha, the first shot you posted is so rich in colour compared to the other two; like it a lot.

Currently deciding if I should sell my 400D for a 40D, or just live in debt and have the back up body ...

Regardless eyeing up the tammy 17-50 2.8 to replace my kit lens as I cant afford the fast canons and cant justify paying the premium for a lens I wont use as much as the long zoom.

                            Hey Guys,

Thanks for the advice, I finally bought the Canon G9 the other day and think it's a great little camera.

I haven't had the time to get to grips with it fully yet but here are a few shots (mostly macro) I've taken with it.

All the shots are taken with the camera on fully auto and i haven't done any after shot processing at all...

Nice conversion on the shot Dan, nice contrast on the dark trees.

Great pictures Tommy. Looks like you know what your doing and a nice little camera too. I like the dandelion seeds and the eye shot. The eye shot in particular has a nice depth of field.

Tommy - wikid shots dude, but that eye one is freakin' me out mannnn!
Glad you like the shot winky - I like the way the trees look too.

Here are some others I've done this evening:

The view of San Francisco from Twin Peaks - I like the way you can see the Golden Gate Bridge at the back on the right, and the clarity of the buildings too - best viewed LARGE:
