That first shot is great Garf, the third is pretty good too but I like the first more.

Nah, sorry. I like this one a lot more, that's a cool shot.

Also, you say better viewed large but you've turned the option off on Flickr

Thanks, I thought it came out a little dark...

Whaddya mean ya don't like it - itz teh freaKin awesum sh0t an' that

You should be able to view it large now though as I have changed the preferences - does 'all sizes' work now?

It is dark yes but the way the sun shines through the trees and then the 'correctly' lit part of the scene on the left really draws the eye.

                All sizes now works.

Recently gotten into SLR photography again and bought a new lens for my Canon. Still trying to learn what it's capable of and what it's not.

Took the above photo in Asakusa when I was out in Tokyo recently. I thought the lanterns had some traditional or cultural meaning behind them, only for my girlfriend to tell me that each one actually has the name of a sponsor on them like Panasonic or Asahi Super Dry beer.

Cheers Alastair - must admit, it's one of the first photos I've been really happy with.

Love that Taka. Same goes for your final shot Garf.

Out of interest Alastair - what are you using to control remote flashes these days?

                          Few from me:

You really have nailed B&W conversions Ish. I really like the really high key effect going on there.

I use ebay triggers. Search ebay for PT-04 and you'll see the set up. They are a little hit and miss sometimes but, I have 3 receivers and one transmitter, the whole lot was under 45 quid. What's also cool is that I can attach the transmitter to the camera via the flash sync port and still use a flash on the hotshoe. I was doing a car shoot yesterday using this technique for some of the shots so was using a 4 light set-up!

Is the Flickr organiser down for anyone else? I need to rearrange some sets for a project but it just stalls every time I try to get to it. Was doing it yesterday too
