The first one is a stunning shot - not entirely sure what your lady friend is up to in that second one though!

    Get well soon Ish

Yep, Get well soon Ish.. (if it makes you feel any better at all, my knee has flared up again, so I am suffering to a lesser degree as well )

Tommy - great stuff again - I dread to think what you'd produce with a DSLR if you got one - don't get one, you'd only make me feel bad...

      One from this evening :

I got to take a pic of the naughty fox in our backgarden this morning, he was a bit sleepy but the kettle ruined my stealthy approach...hence all the bokeh

The shutter noise brought him round and he looked very unimpressed with me, I hope he comes back again...

            Garf, is that Hadleigh Castle?

              Some shots of my cats:

              Zebedee

Bootsy (not entirely sure what he's seen!)

The two of them looking like characters from a Shane Meadows film!

Yep, it is indeed - was hoping for some nice sunset shots there last night, but didn't really get what I wanted (still haven't really figured out low light stuff yet !!), but quite liked that one..

Nice Fox - love his face in the 2nd one - he looks well put out !

Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but my thinking is the people who like photography might be camera buffs too

Anyhow, anyone got any experience with the Lumix TZ5? I'm off on holiday next week and considering picking one up, but would be nice to hear some hands on reports of how it works etc. I've read numerous reviews online all saying it's great, but then some people say it needs a firmware update to fix some focus issues, then others say at certain ISO speeds you get a lot of noise on the pics or something?

It's all a bit Greek to me to be honest - Currently have a Canon Ixus 750, looking to upgrade for the wide angle, 10x zoom and the auto intelligence thingy to make picture taking issue in all conditions etc.

Like I say, sorry if this is in the wrong place, mods feel free to make it its own thread (or tell me so I can) Thanks!

Looking to finally invest in a digital SLR after getting fed up of camera lag. Are there any good ones for sub ?500 and a mention to ones i should avoid. Consider this is my first and i havent got any other equipment .

No, all the sub £500 DSLR are decent.

It might be worth checking the age of some of them as they may be due for replacement. Best to try them out first, you might love the spec of one camera but actually hate the feel of the thing once you've bought it.

If you've got a Jessops near by they are usually good to try. Worth getting a memory card from elsewhere as the high street will bumrape your wallet with the accessories. You'll find the bodies/lens kit price usually a bit more as well.

btw, lovely shots of Barcelona Haha

Bwi, I'd consider the Canon 450D with the kit lens. A really decent package that comes in your budget.

Remember the August competition closes tomorrow! Has anyone got any pictures to submit?

                                Was the theme 'beginning' ?

If so, I'll put this in the hat.. The start of a game of Monopoly..

EDIT - Just realised - has the shot got to taken in this month ? If so, scrap mine, as it's an old shot...
